Step one Grab yourself a coffee because this shouldn’t feel like work

Step two Sign up for a new business profile (or upgrade your existing account) and access business basics, like analytics and exclusive features. It’s quick and free. Now you have a business account, head to your profile to add a clear profile picture, your location, customised profile cover and a helpful description.

Step threeNext up, it’s time to claim your website and other accounts (like Instagram) so you get credited when your customers save your content. Head to ‘Settings’ and ‘Claim’ to get started.

Step four Get Pinning! We recommend saving multiple Pins a few times per week - little and often is better than a once a week flurry, and you can use our scheduling tool to help. You should Pin your own content and mix it up with other content that inspires you too. Set up boards to organise your Pins and categorise your ideas.

Step five Check out your analytics. Remember that each Pin has an average lifespan of 105 days, so you will see activity over time. Keep an eye on your analytics to see what is working best for you.
