Have you ever been to Africa? On a hot day you see a tall rock you go and look at it and you feel a pinch? Then you notice it is not a rock you're thinking what is this? You see something coming in the distance it is an aardvark what is it looking for? It comes and eats little bugs off of this weird looking object. You go back to base camp you are looking to see what is this strange rock?
People in Africa cook and eat these bugs that live on this rock? 9 out of 10 of them are beneficial. They are 2,750 species of this bug they live in colonies there are 2,500 members. They build homes called mounds that are 13 feet tall. These bugs will dig 200ft down to find water.
This bug is called a termite the termite is a very cool bug. Termites build mounds out of mud, waste, and to it in they use saliva. They never go outside because the sun and the dry air will kill them, like some of their enemies.Like birds, ants, and frogs ants will go into the mound and try to take the baby termites called nymphs.
