He’s calling, wake up child, it’s your turn to shine

You were born for such a time as this

Such a time as this.

“Anthem” Jake hamilton

…and who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

Esther 4:14

Vibrant sights and

sounds flooded by

Austin Munn as

he ripped through

the streets of

Kathmandu.

He smiled as he saw the humor in carrying 50 pounds of luggage on the back of a motorcycle. From the smells of the crematory at Pashupatinath to the devastation caused by the recent earthquakes, just 20 minutes in from the airport his introduction to Nepal was complete.

Just a few months prior, Austin met with his

college advisor seeking guidance about his future. Was God really revealing missions as a career path during the recent mission trip to Paraguay? If so, how in the world can God

use someone who’s a computer science major to do missions? Austin came to Nepal to work on Tiny Hands’ Dream Suite software, but God was about to answer the questions that were gnawing at him.

The Dream Suite is a key software program that aggregates all the data Tiny Hands collects from intercepted trafficking

victims and their traffickers and helps the Investigations team spot trends and develop new tactics.

“I had seen all the Dream Suite forms and seen everything the border monitoring staff look for, but I hadn't been able to see the environment in which they work. I saw firsthand how difficult it is for the Tiny Hands staff to do their jobs. Given the heat and crowds, it's very difficult to pick out someone who's being trafficked.”

As he saw the sense of hopelessness in the faces of the women and children at Birgunj, Austin knew immediately that God was confirming his calling to use his computer science skills for missions work.

“Every day I worked with Tiny Hands I just felt like there was a lot more value to what I was doing than if I was working for a business.”

The border station at

Birgunj was Austin's turning

point.

Austin now knows he's been called and positioned for such a time as this.

“ There are so many people

being trafficked every year

that could be intercepted. As

more border monitoring stations

that are opened, the Dream Suite

can give the staff at those stations

more research so they can

have more impact.

“For such a time as this” is a powerful and mysterious statement. It is chock-full of meaning and purpose. It speaks of calling, mission and vision for the days, years and lifetime ahead. It causes us to wonder in amazement and curiosity:

“Was I really created for a specific time, for a specific purpose? Could God really have plans to use me in an important way for His kingdom?”

The answer is YES! We have been called for such a time as this. Our life, our purpose here on earth, is full of meaning, purpose and mission.

If we are here, there is a reason, there is work to be done, we have been called to add value and be apart of what God is already doing.

Look around. What has God laid before you? Ask Him to show you what He has

…and who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a

time as this?

for you to do, what does He want you to be apart of, how can you join Him in what He is already doing?

Then, just like in the book of Esther move forward in prayer, possibly in fasting,

in that calling. Step by step, task by task, person by person, say yes to what God has called you here to do and then watch the God of the Universe do what He does best, amaze you and redeem your story.
