Furniture for Computer, Art  and Science LabsBecause schools need adaptable computer furniture that’s built to last, Virco offers a great array of product solutions.

For outstanding support in technology-based learning environments, Virco’s TEXT™ Series gives you a choice of four specially equipped table models with post-formed front and rear top edges. These TEXT two-student models also include a pair of grommets with hinged tops and wire pass-through openings, a perforated modesty panel and two wire-management trays. See page 100 for more information.

New Flip-Top Technology tables feature a 6” deep locking “flip-top” compartment that accommodates wires, cables and surge protectors beneath the work surface. Available in one-, two- and three-student sizes, Flip-Top Technology tables provide extra wire management security; moreover, they can be equipped with popular options like keyboard mouse trays and backpack hangers.

The Future Access® Series offers you a selection of 11 rectangular and half round alternatives. Every Future Access table features a rugged cantilever-leg frame along with a generous wire management panel, and can be customized with any of Virco’s functional computing accessories; all rectangular models have post-formed front and rear top edges.

Our 8700 Series provides an “a la carte” approach to furnishing computer labs and related spaces. You can outfit these tables with the combination of options that best suits the requirements of your environment.

Computing accessories are another Virco specialty. Our wire management panels, CPU holders, power/communication units and keyboard mouse trays help to facilitate a variety of educational and workplace applications.

Like computer-based learning venues, art rooms require their own task-specific furniture and equipment. That’s why Virco stocks an assortment of art tables and drying racks, as well as a paper storage unit.

For biology, chemistry and related lab settings, Virco carries dozens of science tables with epoxy and Chemsurf® laminate surfaces. Steel-frame tables are available in a range of top sizes with fixed-leg and adjustable-height configurations; selected models can be ordered with casters. If you prefer wood-frame science tables, nine Virco fixed-leg models feature epoxy, Chemsurf laminate and powder coated tops.

Flip-Top TechnologyIn response to educator requests for furniture with easily accessible wire management, new Flip-Top Technology tables feature a 6” deep locking flip-top compartment that secures cables, surge protectors and wires beneath the work surface. Flip-Top Technology tables let educators and technicians resolve connectiv-ity issues without having to move tables or crawl beneath work surfaces. A generous port at each end of the flip-top compartment allows tables to be networked with power and data lines.

With rectangular high-pressure lami-nate top sizes that range from 30” wide to 84” wide, Flip-Top Technology tables can accommodate one-, two- and three-student applications; there’s also a pair of single-student corner units. Models are available with two top depth configurations: 24” (18” work surface plus 6” flip-top) and 30” (24” work surface plus 6” flip-top). Top height adjusts from 24” to 34” for elementary, intermediate and high school settings.

With handy Virco accessories like a surge protector, keyboard/mouse tray, CPU holder and backpack hanger, Flip-Top Technology tables can be read-ily outfitted to meet the needs of your school or district.

Each flip-top compart-ment locks for security. For your convenience, locks are keyed-alike on an order-by-order basis.

Connectivity

A generous port at each end of the flip-top com-partment enables the networking of tables with power and data lines.

Adjustability

Table tops have a height adjustment range of 24” to 34” in one-inch increments. Each leg is equipped with two Allen screw fasteners for dependability and security.

Spacious

With 5.5” of top-to-bottom storage capacity, 6” deep flip-top com-partments provide lots of space for wires, cables and surge protectors.

Clean Design

A subtly contoured cut-out at the rear of the work surface enables wires and cables to be routed into the flip-top compartment.

Single-StudentFlip-Top Technology tables give you a choice of 30” wide or 42” wide rectangular models with 24” deep or 30” deep tops for single-student applications. Two corner units provide additional single-student workstation solutions that allow networking of rows of tables along adjoining walls while also helping to optimize classroom floor space.

Two-StudentBecause two-student workstations are so popular, Virco carries six rectangular Flip-Top Technology table sizes (24” x 48”, 24” x 60”, 24” x 72”, 30” x 48”, 30” x 60”, 30” x 72”) that enable students to be seated in pairs. Rows of two-student tables along adjoining walls can be networked together with the use of a single-student corner unit.

IMPORTANT: Flip-Top Technology table models can accommodate one or more of Virco’s keyboard/mouse trays; selected models can also accommodate a Virco CPU holder. However, compatibility of these accessories with specific Flip-Top Technology table models varies on a model-by-model basis. Consult your Virco Representative for more information.

Peninsulas

Peninsulas allow students to work in a lab setting mixed with occasional lecture/ presentation formats. Aisles are double-utilized to provide additional width and allow the instructor to help individual students more easily; moreover, the instructor can see multiple computer screens at a glance. Adjoining half round tables at the end of rows provide easy access to printers and peripheral equipment.

Future Access®

Virco designed Future Access® furniture to facilitate classroom computing. Space-saving half round tables help you create computer islands and peninsulas that let students work collaboratively. 48” half round tables can be positioned at the end of rows consisting of 24” wide tables to hold printers and related support equipment. 60” half round tables can be used in a similar fashion to complement 30” wide tables. Every half round table is protected with sturdy bullnose edge banding.

All Future Access tops feature cool Grey Nebula high-pressure laminate surfaces. The laminate extends over the post-formed front and rear edges of rectan-gular tops, while their side edges have a flat, 3 mil. PVC surface for smooth, uniform alignment with other tables. All rectangular tops of 48” and longer are strengthened with at least one bottom-mounted steel stiffener to help support the weight of computer equipment.

A generous wire management panel is standard on every Future Access table.

8700 SeriesWhen you want topflight activity tables that excel in any setting, the 8700 Series is a model of adaptability. First class table construction provides a strong foundation for an array of educational or work-related applications.

Table tops are surfaced with your choice of Fusion Maple, Grey Nebula, Walnut or Medium Oak high-pressure laminate fin-ishes. Table edges with rounded corners are wrapped with our protec-tive T-mold vinyl banding. Cantilevered, adjustable-height steel legs give the 8700 Series added strength and support.

8700 Series products function admirably as computer tables. You can outfit them to your specifications with any of our optional accessories shown on page 120.

Among our most popular options are convenient wire management panels that neatly conceal cables under the table top. Power packs offer easy table top cable access, while vertical cord managers bring voice and data lines to work stations. Keyboard mouse trays help manage work space, as does a patented, 10” wide CPU holder that mounts on either side of our cantilevered table leg. Casters conveniently enhance table mobility.

Keyboard Mouse Trays - TKBMT29, TKBMT27 & TKBMT24Retractable keyboard/mouse trays let you position your keyboard and mouse side by side for easy access. The keyboard mouse tray works with Virco’s Future Access® and 8700 Series tables. It comes in three sizes: 29”L x 12”D (TKBMT29) for use with rectangular tables, 27”L x 12”D (TKBMT27) for use with half round or trapezoidal tables, and for those who prefer a smaller unit, 24”L x 12”D (TKBMT24).

CPU Holder - T87CPUVirco’s patented TCPU holder provides a spacious 10” wide platform for holding your computer’s Central Processing Unit (CPU). It can be easily mounted on either the inside or outside of our can-tilevered table legs. The TCPU holder works with Virco’s Future Access and 8700 Series tables.

Vertical Cord Manager - TVCMDesigned to bring cables from the wire management panel to the floor, this 2” x 2” x 24” PVC housing helps keep loose cables out of sight and away from feet. The vertical cord manager attaches to the Virco wire management panels described on this page.

Swivel Caster Pack - U87CASTFour 3” swivel casters give tables easy mobility. Two casters are equipped with locks. When installed, cast-ers add 4” to table height. Casters work with Virco’s Future Access and 8700 Series tables.

Shelf-Support Column - UCLMWhen you want an elevated shelf for peripheral equipment, this column has a vertical raceway for power and communication cables and secures the shelf in place. The column works with either a Future Access Series half round shelf, or with 8700 Series trapezoi-dal shelves.

Power Pack - TPTP3Pre-wired with two electrical outlets, Virco’s power pack also gives you two voice/data ports that accept jacks for either cat. 3 (standard) or cat. 5 lines. It mounts easily along the table’s edge. The power pack outlet works with Virco’s Future Access® and 8700 Series tables. Available in Black.

Tie Plate Pack - UGANGTie plates provide firm, semi-permanent connections between adjoining Future Access and 8700 Series tables or shelves. Each pack contains 2 steel tie plates and 12 screws.

Grommet Kit - UGRMT35Grommets allow you to pass a power/communication pole through a shelf or table top. Each kit contains two grommets and two 31⁄2” sleeves.The grommet kit works with Virco’s Future Access and 8700 Series tables. Table drilling and grommet instal-lation must be done by customer.

Wire Management Panels - TWMP36, TWMP48,  TWMP60 & TWMP72With our wire management panels, you can neatly and efficiently route power and communications cables beneath work surfaces. Their 5” wide cable trough readily accommodates our electrical power strip/surge protector, while two 7” x 2” cutouts in their back wall allow you to mount two power pack outlets on your Virco table top. A wire management panel is standard on every Future Access table. They also work with Virco’s 8700 Series tables. Individual TWMP models fit the following table sizes: TWMP36 for 36” rectangular and 48” trapezoidal; TWMP48 for 48” rect. and 60” trap.; TWMP60 for 60” rect.; TWMP72 for 72” rect. and 84” trap.

Electrical Power Strip/Surge Protector - T762ELECTPower strips give you six ready-to-use electrical out-lets, a 15’ cord and supply computer-grade, 3-line surge protection. The electrical power strip/surge protector works with Virco’s Future Access and 8700 Series tables.

Grommet Kit - UGRMT27Two 23⁄4” grommet covers with sleeves allow for cable routing. Table drilling and grommet installa-tion must be done by customer.

Curved Keyboard Mouse Trays - TKBMTC29, TKBMTC27Virco also offers retractable keyboard/mouse trays with a curved front edge. They’re available in two sizes: 29”L x 12”D (TKBMTC29) and 27”L x 12”D (TKBMTC27).
