Saturday morning, everyone was planning their day with meetings, terrace party, blinging tee shirts, dance lessons, dancing with DJ’s Frank Price, Phil Long and Gene Hensley and of course, hospitality. The terrace party games were fun, with all the different games that were played. Thank you to Terrace Party Co-Chairs and their team for making it a great day on the terrace! Our Co-Chairs and their teams for 50/50 and the raffle worked the crowd!!! $1571 for the winner of 50/50!! The raffle also raised $1495 going to the Hall of Fame Foundation. The Auction brought in $1600!! I can’t say enough about how proud I am of our members; they all volunteered to fill in at different stations where help was needed. Saturday evening was wonderful. The entertainment brought back the Rock Hill Choral Society doing their rendition of “Chicken Song” In The Mood. Elvis entered the building and preformed “You Ain’t Nothing but a Hounddog” and Prince did “Purple Rain”. Bob Klimas came out as himself, doing a comedy skit for laughs. Nikki Kontulas and Scott Campbell danced an awesome dance! The end of the entertainment was a performance by the Junior Shag DanceTeam. What an awesome group of juniors! The Rock Hill Shag Club donated $500 and challenged other clubs to match or donate to the juniors. They were able to raise $2500 during the weekend workshop. What a great workshop! Sunday morning as we were eating breakfast, everyone thanked us for the workshop and how they had a wonderful time. One group told us that it was the best workshop they’ve been too. We are so appreciative of all the comments! Thank you!

Here are some comments that were sent to us. Peggy Hartness A huge “Thank You” to the Rock Hill Shagclub for an awesome job making the ACSC 35th Year Anniversary such a huge success. Great food, and plenty of it, wonderful music and always something going on to keep you entertained. Memories that will last a lifetime! Friends that make our life complete! Music to keep our feet moving...keep on dancing and we will see you on the flip side! ❤ DJ Buck Crumpton The 35th ACSC Summer Workshop hosted by the Rock Hill Shag Club is in the history books and what a great party it was. The decorations, the hotel, the food, and the hospitality were all first class. My hat is off to all of the Rock Hill Shagclub for the time and dedication it takes to put on this type of party. Thank you for having me as one of your DJ's and again, GREAT JOB!!! Ron Whisenant Just a note to say thank you for a wonderful weekend and kudos for a fantastic workshop. The RHSC club worked very hard and performed outstandingly to showcase their talents of ”hospitality and party flair”. Rock Hill Shag Club is # 1 in my book

I just want to tell you all that I am a very proud member of the club and my heart swells with pride to be associated with anything that this club chooses to do in its future endeavors. “ROCK ON” Best Regards Shirley Williams Hi Gail, let me say how much I enjoyed the workshop a couple of weekends ago. Your club worked so hard and covered all the bases, it was fun, yet there was instruction, and a full schedule. Ashley & Tobitha Stewart The Junior Shag Dance Team would like to thank the Rock Hill Shag Club for inviting JSDT to perform at the 2019 ACSC Summer workshop this weekend! We appreciate from the bottom of our hearts all the support and donations from all the ASCS Shag Clubs and their members that continue to support JSDT!! Without your support it would not be possible for JSDT to spread the shag fever and promote the dance we all love so much!❤

Be sure to check out more pictures of the 2019 Summer Workshop from photos on our website by Judy Baker.

We will have a business meeting August 17th at 7 pm before our party at 8pm with DJ Betty Brown. Penny Blaney has volunteered to be chair of the Nominating Committee. If you would help Penny with serving on the committee, please let me know. Wall of Fame nomination is coming up, so please think about who you think deserves to be added to our Wall of Fame for next year. Thank you, Rock Hill Shag Club members, for everything you do! Remember, One and two, three and four, five six. Keep Dancing Tommy Davis RHSC President

On the first Sunday & only Monday of the Fall Migration everyone meets in the Street for two of the biggest block parties you have ever seen, Fun Sunday & Fun Monday. On Fun Sunday the party is in the street beside the OD Arcade. Some of the best names in beach & shag music will help you rock the day away with a few thousand of your closest friends. Don't worry if you can't get enough fun in one day, because on Monday we are gonna' do it all again. For Fun Monday we will pack Main Street from OD to Hillside with every smooth dancing fun lovin' friend that we can find. There will be great music, dancing in the street, & fun to be had by all. We will also have merchandise vendors, food/drink vendors, & displays set up by the SOS sponsors. **Remember that we are guests on the streets of North Myrtle Beach. We need to make sure that we do our best to pick up our belongings and trash when we get ready to leave. As in the past, there will be no coolers or containers permitted on the street or in public areas during Fun Monday. We want everyone to have fun, but please remember that adult beverages may be obtained from local merchants & consumed on their premises only.

Both Fun Sunday & Fun Monday offer you the chance to have a great time during your stay at North Myrtle Beach. But one of the greatest things about these events is known to very few people. They are both funded solely by sales of Fun Monday raffle tickets. That's right. There is no admission charge! How great is that? Two fun filled days. Dozens of great musicians. Thousands of people & more excitement than you can imagine. To make the most of your Fun Sunday & Fun Monday experience come prepared. Make sure you have a chair, a hat, and clothes appropriate for the weather. We'll be outside all day, so don't forget your sunblock. Please do not bring umbrellas as they present a danger to others in a big crowd & block the view of other guests. Please keep one thing in mind though. We need your help. We can't pay for the party without your help. You can pitch in by either buying or selling Fun Monday raffle tickets. If you will help us with this, you get more than just the satisfaction of making a great party possible. You get the chance to cash in big! That's right. If you are the lucky holder of the winning ticket in the raffle you could go home with $7,500! You also get the joy of helping people in need. Any proceeds that remain after the event expenses are paid are donated to charity. Both the SOS charitable fund & Caring for Kids of Horry County have benefited from the Fun Monday Raffle. So, help us, help yourself, & help the needy. Join in the excitement of the Fun Monday Raffle!
