MISSIONS OF CHARITY

FOOD PANTRY

“Return, O my soul, to your tranquility, for the Lord has been good to you.”

Psalm 116:7

I don’t know about you, but the older I get, the less sleep I require. There is so much good to be done in this world and my mind is constantly occupied with thoughts of the next outreach for humans and animals that might make their life easier and better. We are all so different. Being busy fills me with happiness and contentment. For others, taking time for themselves to regroup and rebound is what keeps them going. We all have one thing in common – at some point, we must mentally and physically rest. What is your favorite way to relax? Do you take a nap, soak up the sun rays, listen to music, or meditate? We are, by design, required to rest. Remember, Jesus needed sleep and downtime. Is it possible for our bodies and minds to be in motion and our souls to remain at rest? As you swing in your hammock or have a quiet morning, think about the times God has blessed you. We cannot avoid strife and difficulties in this world, but these should not rattle your soul to unrest.

Find peace in the Lord each and every day.

FOOD COLLECTION NEXT WEEKEND! Our wish list includes: Tuna, chicken breast, macaroni and cheese, and peanut butter. We would also appreciate a donation of empty egg cartons. Thank you!

Blessings,

Kathy Goodwin,

Food Pantry Coordinator
