Season Two of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Kicks off with One-Hour SpecialDANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD, a top-rated PBS KIDS animated television series from The Fred Rogers Company, has been winning the hearts of little “tigers” and their families nationwide since its premiere – and soon there will be even more to love! Season 2 of the popular series kicks off on Monday, August 18, on WIPB with a special one-hour premiere celebrating the arrival of a new addition to the Tiger Family: Daniel Tiger’s little sister Margaret. After the upcoming “Meet the New Baby” special, PBS KIDS will premiere two more new episodes on Tuesday, August 19, and Wednesday, August 20, focusing on Daniel and his family as they adjust to life with the baby. New digital content, including two online games and an app, will also launch in August.

With the “Meet the New Baby” special and the episodes that follow, DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD shines a spotlight on a relevant topic for families and preschoolers everywhere. Inspired by the enduring wisdom of Fred Rogers, the shows tackle many of the important issues young children encounter with a new sibling – such as feeling left out, learning to share time and attention, and appreciating how fun a little sister (or brother) can be – with accompanying strategies that help preschoolers work through their feelings. “Meet the New Baby” debuts on PBS stations nationwide and on the PBS KIDS Video Player, the PBS KIDS Video App, Apple TV and PBS KIDS’ Roku channel on Monday, August 18.

Season 2 of DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD, the first original TV series from The Fred Rogers Company since MISTER ROGERS’ NEIGHBORHOOD,

features 25 new episodes with a host of charming stories and catchy musical strategies that have become the show’s signature and helped it earn high marks among parents and preschoolers alike.

PBS Programs Receive 34 Primetime Emmy® Award NominationsOn July 10, 2014 the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced nominations for the 66th Primetime Emmy® Awards. PBS programs received 34 nominations for their work over the past year.

PBS programs receiving multiple nominations include MASTERPIECE “Downton Abbey” (12 nominations), MASTERPIECE “Sherlock” (12), AMERICAN MASTERS (3) and AMERICAN EXPERIENCE (3).

“PBS is very honored to have received 34 Emmy nominations this year,”

said PBS President & CEO Paula Kerger. “We strive to provide

Sting: The Last ShipFriday, August 8, 10pmRock ‘n’ roll Renaissance man Sting has embarked on a new venture, The Last Ship, a musical play for which he has written original music and lyrics. Exploring a range of universal themes, The Last Ship dramatizes the impact of the demise of the ship-building industry in Sting’s home town of Wallsend, England, which for so long had dominated and shaped the city’s community life.

Great Performances: Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers featuring Edie BrickellSaturday, August 9, 10pmGP turns the spotlight on Steve Martin’s musical side with a concert performance of his new collaboration with Edie Brickell, who initially burst onto the national scene in the late 80s fronting the New Bohemians. Backed by the virtuoso playing of the Steep Canyon Rangers, the duo partner on a series of new songs that combine Martin’s inventive five-string banjo playing with Brickell’s heart-tugging vocals to create a playful and accessible collection of songs.

Dick Cavett’s WatergateFriday, August 8, 9pm

From 1972 to 1974, the Watergate scandal was frequently a part of “The Dick Cavett Show.” In fact, Cavett was at the forefront of national TV coverage, interviewing nearly every major Watergate figure as the crisis unfolded. This special documents the scandal in the words of the people who lived it: from the botched burglary at the Democratic National Headquarters; to

the must-see TV of the daily Congressional Watergate hearings; to the ongoing behind-the-scenes battle

between the White House and “The Dick Cavett Show,” culminating with President Nixon’s resignation on August 9, 1974.

Secrets of Her Majesty’s Secret ServiceSunday, August 31, 8pmHer Majesty’s Secret Service, or MI6 as it is known, is the world’s most legendary spy agency, thanks to the James Bond stories.
