TRANSCRIPT
I hope everyone is having a great summer so far. I know we are here at the Club and it is as busy as ever. I would like to
take a moment to welcome our new Executive Chef Christopher Smith. Chris comes to us for Cascades Country Club in
Tyler, TX. I know many of you have had the chance to meet him already, and everyone I have spoken with seems to be
enjoying some of the new specials he has been running. Chris likes to get out into the front of the house and meet the
membership so next time you are up if you have not already done so be sure to ask for Chris and get a chance to meet
him. If you have a special request don’t hesitate to ask, I am sure he will be happy to accommodate. Chris and Arnel are
both excited to be working with each other to make sure your food and beverage experiences here at the club are en-
joyable. If there is anything they can do to make it better please feel free to share.
You may have also noticed that we have been doing a few things here and there to spruce up the clubhouse a little over
the last few weeks. We have replaced the entry way doors, repainted the ballroom, added some new pieces of furniture
and are now working on the men’s and ladies’ locker rooms. We are replacing all that old tile in the rest rooms and
showers which will give these areas a much needed update. We will also be replacing the carpet in the men’s locker
room and the chairs in the women’s. We hope to be completed within the next couple weeks. We thank you for your
patience as we work through these projects.
We have a few more weeks before school gets under way so come on out to the Club and enjoy it with us!
Thanks for being a member.

Hey Everyone!
August is here and that can only mean one thing: the dog days of summer are
upon us. The Club is a great place to spend these hot months as there are always some great activities that
everyone can participate in. I hope you were able to make it out to the 4th
of July pool party – if not, make
sure you get out in August and enjoy the pool. August is the last month the pool is open - plan now for the
end of summer pool party on Labor Day.
For our new members, make sure you look through this newsletter for information on all of the great
clubs within the club – there is something for everyone at Eldorado. Besides the great golf, tennis and swim-
ming activities, you may want to consider joining the Wine Club, Book Club, Stock Options Group, Couples
Bridge Club or even the Bunko Ladies.
As usual, the club has several activities planned for August. Look in this newsletter for everything that
we have going on. For our newest members that have not attended a Welcome Ceremony, there is one
scheduled on the evening of the 7th
and 21st
. Also, we have the Ambassador Brunch on the 17th
for those of
you who have not attended one of these. Your ambassador can supply you with the details. Don’t forget the
TBAM (Thank You for Being a Member) night on the 21st
. This is a great opportunity to meet other members
and enjoy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails.
See you at the club!
Important Reminder Regarding Dress Code on the Golf Course Shirts must be worn at all times on the golf course and within the social area of the Club. Men’s shirts must
have collars, or mock turtleneck collars, and sleeves. Shorts must be of Bermuda length or a style specifi-
cally designed for golf. Golf shoes must be worn on the course. Eldorado Country Club prohibits metal
spikes on the course. All the following types of clothing are prohibited on the golf course in all areas
(including driving range and putting green): denim (so-called “jeans”) of all types and designs, short
shorts, cutoffs, running shorts, tennis-length skirts, T-shirts, tank tops and sweatshirts.
***Attention Members:***
As of May 1st we made a slight modification to our Thursday night
Kid’s Night. You will receive one complimentary kids meal for each adult meal
purchased. Complimentary kids meals are limited to the buffet or kids menu.
The Eldorado Round Up What a wonderful break of cool weather in July! We are now back to typical hot summer
days, so please remember to stay hydrated! How about the renovations in the Ladies’ Locker Room? Looking good.
Things seem to be a bit quieter around the Club as many are enjoying vacations. If your trip includes golf, remember to
post out of town scores as soon as possible (3 days is preferred). Posting can even be done online. If you have ques-
tions, see the Pro Shop.
The Member/Member is in the books, now on to August activities. The last Solheim Qualifier is August 7th &
9th. Also in August is the Club Championship, you don’t have to belong to EWGA to play in this Club event.
September 4th is our fun Classy/Sassy tournament. Look for more details to come.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Our August Birthday Girls: Agatha Donatelli-10th, Judy Acinger-14th, Joy Lewis-

Junior Academy
My objective is to provide each junior with the
skills, knowledge, etiquette, and confidence
needed to perform well on a high school team
and eventually college team if the junior desires.
I know what it takes to play NCAA level golf,
and I know how much work it takes to get there
as a junior. I want to give every player the
chance to be a great golfer if they choose to
be.
In this program, juniors receive time
and attention on the golf course through group
lessons as well as an individual lesson each
month, allowing specific player and skill
development.
Areas of concentration will be:
Repeatable full swing development
Short game
Course management
Confidence
Positive Attitude Clinics & Lessons
Coach Chad also teaches clinics & private les-sons. Call or email him to check availability. Contact Coach Chad to sign up:

The dog days of summer are upon us. At time of print we have already had more days of hundred degree heat than we care to think about with many more to follow for sure. During these days of extreme heat combined with the humidity we have a lot of thunderstorms develop in the afternoons. Many times these storms are severe and have lightning associated with them.
Here are a few key points to observe during these storms.
-Seek shelter at the first sign of a thunderstorm. If the course's warning system sounds, take cover.
-If possible, get off the golf course or go to a designated lightning shelter.
-Do not stand under a lone tree. This is where most people are injured or killed.
-Stay away from water.
-Stay away from your golf clubs.
-Move away from your golf cart.
-If stranded in the open, go to a low place such as a ravine or valley.
On Monday the 25th we will be performing our last greens aerification of the year. This will
be the same as the one we did in July and should take 7 to 10 day to heal.
Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter for golf course updates.

Handicap Reminder
This is a reminder of your responsibilities as to handicap postings. The handicap system is to maintain a competitive equality amongst players. Not playing in accordance with the Handicap System is unfair to fellow competitors, opponents and partners. Adherence to the system develops fairness for all players. Audits will be preformed. 1. Players are responsible for insuring that their scores are properly posted into the Club’s handicap network. a. Pro shop staff is not responsible for this posting. b. The excuse of “So and so said that they would post my score” is not an acceptable reason for not posting. Check your scoring record regularly. c. Scores need to be posted within 3 days of playing, whether the play is at ECC or away. (Make sure you mark which tees you played and correct date when posting.) d. Online posting is allowed (contact pro shop for details). 2. All legitimate scores must be posted a. A nine-hole score should be posted if at least 7 holes are played. Unplayed holes should be entered using the Equitable Stroke Control (ESC) provisions outlined by the USGA. b. An eighteen-hole score should be posted if at least 14 holes are played. Unplayed holes should be entered using the Equitable Stroke Control (ESC) provisions outlined by the USGA. c. Unfinished holes: enter what you most likely would have scored on that hole. 3. Failure to post scores may subject the player to sanction and penalties. Such penalties may include: a. Reduction of handicap index. b. Posting of penalty scores. c. Withdrawal of handicap index. If you have any question regarding the Handicap System, please feel free to contact the Head Golf Professional or any of the below listed members of the Handicap Committee. Connie Harper, Chairman, EWGA Representative Sonnie Wright, EWGA Representative Dwight Watson, MGA Representative Kathy Martin, ENGA Representative Ron Harper, MGA Representative Tom Meeks, SMGA Representative
