10 Who can find a wife of noble character? She is far more precious than jewels.
11 The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will not lack anything good.
12 She rewards him with good, not evil, all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax and works with willing hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from far away.
15 She rises while it is still night and provides food for her household
and portions for her female servants.
16 She evaluates a field and buys it; she plants a vineyard with her earnings
23 Her husband is known at the city gates, where he sits among the elders of the land.
24 She makes and sells linen garments; she delivers belts to the merchants.
25 Strength and honor are her clothing, and she can laugh at the time to come.
26 Her mouth speaks wisdom, and loving instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the activities of her household and is never idle.
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also praises her:
29 “Many women have done noble deeds, but you surpass them all!”
30 Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord will be praised.
31 Give her the reward of her labor, and let her works praise her at the city gates.

The Testimony of Others
“Here I am. Witness against me before the Lord and before His anointed… .
And they said, “You have not cheated us or oppressed us, nor have you taken anything from any man's hand.”
1 Samuel 12:3a–4
There is a freedom that comes in having nothing to hide. Living a life of integrity allows you this freedom. Your integrity
is measured not by what you say about yourself but by what God and people say about you. Samuel had lived all his
life among the people of God. Leaders who preceded him were dishonest and corrupt; it would have been easy for
Samuel to compromise in his dealings as well. Near the end of his life, however, Samuel could boldly stand before
his nation and ask them to reveal any offense he had committed against any of them. They could not think of one.
In his position of leadership, Samuel could have taken advantage of people. Yet because he carefully guarded his
motives and kept his relationships blameless, Samuel could fearlessly ask the people to report if he had mistreated
them in any way. It takes courage to open your life up to the scrutiny of others, but Samuel did not fear what others
would say about him. He did not have to avoid anyone whom he had offended. He had a confidence that comes
from living a blameless life.
If you have mistreated others, you cannot change the past, but you can choose to live with integrity from this day
forward. Living righteously frees you to face any person unashamedly, knowing you have behaved in a Christlike
manner. If your reputation is stained, seek forgiveness from those you have offended. Ask God to guide you daily
in your relationships so that you have no regrets about your treatment of others.

True honor is not the honor that one claims for oneself,
but rather it is the honor that is conferred on one by others.

Robbery Without a Weapon “...You have gone away from my ordinances and have not kept them...you have robbed me!” Malachi 3:7-9
In the New Testament we see Jesus approving and obviously practicing the tithe. The Pharisees were out to catch Him at any point they could. Certainly had Jesus been failing on the matter of the tithe, he would have had stern fingers of accusation pointed His way. Note what He says in His rebuke of the Pharisees in Matthew 23:23, “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law; justice and mercy, and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the other undone.” This verse is often misunderstood and misinterpreted. Here Jesus is rebuking the Pharisees for their hypocrisy, not for their tithing. In fact, He says, “These things you ought to do.” The word “ought” is an imperative and is translated in other versions as “must.” Jesus saw the tithe as a requirement from God. It is unthinkable in light of the cross on which our Savior died that any of us under grace would give less than the Jews gave under law! It is helpful in our understanding of the tithe to know that it is holy unto the Lord. “And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s. It is holy to the Lord” (Lev. 27:30). The Bible says that “the t ithe is holy to the Lord.” That is to say, God reserves for Himself, as His own, one-tenth of what He gives to us. It is holy to Him. There are not many things called holy in the Word of God. Where something is set aside as holy it is a dangerous thing to keep that from the Lord. You may say you can’t afford to tithe. The very reason you think you can’t is no doubt because you have robbed God of something that is holy to Him. From Money Talks by O.S. Hawkins
