The cassettetapehastakenitsplacealongsidepop culture artifacts like therotary phone, the phone booth,vinyl records (yes, I know theseshiny round objects are making

    a comeback), leisure suits, andcabinettelevisions.The focus of theaforementioned TIME articleis 87yearold Lou Ottens, thePhillips product developmentengineer who introduced us to0*'$ )(--'00'$ .&$ D^ef"$ 3*'$ /.6-0$commerciallyavailable cassette,however, wasnt available until1966, the year that saw thereleaseofNancySinatrasTheseBoots Are Made For Walkin,Sgt.
