Positives and NegativesMeeting classroom expectations and behavingappropriately in class helps to create a learningenvironment where you and your classmates feelwelcome, safe, and respected.
If you choose to meet the classroom expectations, you will receive a positive consequence, such as praise from teacher, classmates, administration, a positive note or phone call home, special privileges/activities, and awards.
If you choose not to meet the classroom expectations, you will receive a negative consequence, such as a verbal warning, a change of seats, a student/teacher conference, a phone call home, a detention, a parent/guardian meeting, and for severe infractions of school rules, suspension.
While you are here...Entering Class: Gather any necessary materials, quickly find your seat, and begin working on the Do Now posted on the board.
Bathroom Usage: Schoolwide policy states students may not leave class in the first 15 minutes or the last 10 minutes. Students needing to use the restroom at other times may raise their hand and, once given permission, sign out, take the pass and use the restroom.
Food & Electronic Devices: Ms. Ball may allow a healthy snack the first 10 minutes of class; healthy does not mean candy, chips, cookies, or pop/sugary drinks. Electronics should not be seen or heard in the classroom.
Exiting Class: In the last five minutes of class, you will wrap up what you are working on, return materials to the appropriate locations, and complete an exit ticket. The teacher, not the bell, dismisses you upon completion of these tasks. Stay behind in your seat until dismissed.
Absences: If you are absent, it is your responsibility to make up missed assignments. Ms. Ball would be more than happy to help you find materials before or after school.
