World test standard advancedfor A380 maintenanceFor Airbus A380 maintenance, theATEC Series 6 has been selectedwith a library of 30 Test ProgrammeSets (TPS), corresponding to theaircraft’s major equipment families.It can also be coupled with Airman,the new global logistics system forthe Airbus family. Additionally, the ATEC Series 6 will bethe standard tool for the downloadingof numerous on-board softwaresuites on this new aircraft.

Data loading for the A380For the downloading of on-boardsoftware and especially for theA380 modular avionics, a testprogramme set library named ‘LoadProgramme Set’ (LPS) has beendeveloped and relies on the followingfeatures:- re-use of the existing Test Unit

procedures from the TPS,- re-use of the ATEC Series 6 existing

protocols: AFDX (A615-A), A615-3,CAN, RS 232, …

The largest TPS library availableworldwideThe ATEC Series 6 possesses alibrary of more than 600 TPS (morethan 4,000 standards), developedby EADS TEST & SERVICES togetherwith several avionics EquipmentManufacturers (THALES Group,Airbus France, SAFRAN Group,Honeywell…) according to theARINC 625-1 standard. The ATEC Series 6 is used formaintenance testing of every majorequipment family: flight controlsystems, primary and secondaryflight displays, engine controlsystems, fuel monitoring systems,landing/brake control systems,auxiliary power units and newgeneration avionics.

Modular architectureThe ATEC Series 6 is fully compliantwith international norms andstandards: VXI instrumentation, IEEE488 bus, ARINC 608A switching andinterface. It is designed as a modulararchitecture using off-the-shelfresources and is available in differentconfigurations adapted to users’ needs.
