OPERATING CONDITIONSAltitudeThe rated outputs refer to installation up to 1000m above sea level (a.s.l.) at a maximum ambient temperature of +40°C.Above this level the following derating factors must be applied.

Ambient temperatureThe continuous duty rated outputs given in this catalogue are based on a maximum ambient temperature of 40°C at a maximum installation altitude of 1000m.When operating at different ambient temperatures, the output rating can be obtained by applying the factors as in the following table.

Power factorThe nominal power factor of synchronous generators is 0,8 lagging. For different power factor values the following derating factors must be applied.

Configurations derivative of IC01 cooling methodThe rated outputs of generators with IC21 or IC81W cooling method can be obtained by applying the following factors to the output values of generators with IC01 one.

GENERAL FEATURESConnectionStandard connection of Marelli Motori hydro generators is shown in the following table. Different connection can be supplied as optional.

Protective treatments

External surfacesMarelli Motori painting processes refer to the following standards:• EN ISO 12944:2018 – Paints and varnishes - Corrosion protection of steel structures by protective paint systems - Part 1: General introduction - Part 2: Classification of environments• ISO 19840:2012 - Paints and varnishes - Corrosion protection of steel structures by protective paint systems - Measurement of, and

acceptance criteria for, the thickness of dry films on rough surfaces• Classic list of RAL colours

The durability range is not a “guarantee time”. Durability is a technical indicative parameter that can help the owner to set up a maintenance programme. The guarantee time is usually shorter than the durability range. There is no rule that links the durability and the guarantee time. More frequent maintenance may be required because of fading, chalking, contamination, wear and tear, or for other reasons. Marelli Motori generators in standard configuration are painted according to F96833 painting process, which is suitable up the following corrosion classes and durability: • Up to C1 – durability L, M, H and VH; • Up to C2 – durability L and M; • Up to C3 – durability L; Painting processes suitable for environments of higher corrosivity category and/or longer durability periods are available as optional.

Noise levelsMedium values od A-sound pressure level (LpA) are measured at a one-meter distance according to ISO R 1680 standard. Sound levels are measured in no-load conditions and a tolerance of 3dB(A) shall be applied on the shown values.

BearingsThe standard configuration of Marelli Motori generators without external loads applied to the shaft is with antifriction bearings up to 800 frame. Same configuration applies on 900 frame generators and above when the rated speed and overspeed are below 900rpm and below 1750rpm respectively.Customised configuration of the generator is evaluated for different speed and overspeed values and by considering the specific characteristics of the plant like presence of axial and radial loads applied to the shaft of the generator and/or special shaft extensions required.
