Fires are scary, but you should

NEVER

hide in closets or under beds when there is a fire

Protect yourself and your friends

Stay Calm, Don’t

Panic.

Alarm and

Alert Everyone.

Use nearest

emergency Exit routes.

Close all Doors and Windows behind you.

Use

Staircase,

Not Lifts.

Never

stand but always

crawl low on the ground

and

keep your face covered.

Attract attention of the Rescue Team by making loud

noise.

Always STOP DROP and ROLL. Roll over the ground to put

off the fire

CRAWL LOW UNDER SMOKE

Smoke is dangerous! If you encounter smoke, use an

alternative escape route.

If you must exit through smoke, the cleanest air will

be 12 to 24 inches (30 to 60 cm) above the floor.

Crawl on your hands & Knees to the nearest safe

exit.

Breath slowly through nose, and use a filter such as

shirt or towel.

Develop

a Fire Emergency Plan

for the school and ensure that

everyone knows it.

Set out Fire Alarm

in emergency

(Practice Manual Alarming system)

& Alert all in

case in Fire.

Practice moving through your Escape Route during normal

times.

Rush Out from the classroom

without panicking and Stay Calm.

Keep storage and working areas

free from trashes.

Keep Fire extinguishers in working

conditions and learn how to operate

them.

Keep First-Aid Boxes

at

accessible location.

Keep inflammables like Kerosene, Gas cylinder etc.
