REQUIREMENTS TO SELL ON EBAY 2.1. VAT & CST registration: A statutory tax invoice is required while shipping the goods/products. As the shipping would be pan India, hence a Central Sales Tax registration is required along with the usual MVAT no. The tax invoice would have to reflect both the VAT as well as CST registration numbers. However if the total business/sales done by the NGO from all sources is less than Rs. 10,00,000 then VAT registration is not mandatory 2.2. Register for Paisa Pay : Paisa pay is an online payment gateway used by ebay. Before selling on ebay a Paisa pay ID has to be created online 2.3. 1. REGISTERING ON EBAY:

Details required to sell on ebay:

1) Business/NGO name

2) Business/NGO type

3) Name and details of contact person

4) Business/NGO address

5) Business/NGO telephone number

6) Business/contact person email ID.

2. REQUIREMENTS TO SELL ON EBAY

2.1. VAT & CST registration:

A statutory tax invoice is required while shipping the goods/products. As the shipping

would be pan India, hence a Central Sales Tax registration is required along with the usual

MVAT no. The tax invoice would have to reflect both the VAT as well as CST registration

numbers.

However if the total business/sales done by the NGO from all sources is less than

Rs. 10,00,000 then VAT registration is not mandatory

3. SELLING FEES:

There are three basic seller fees on ebay:

1) Insertion fees:

These are fees for listing a product. However there are no insertion fees for products listed

under Charity/NGO category.

2) Final Value Fees:

The Final Value Fee for listing is charged on the final sale price of the item (item price +

shipping price) based on the category that they are listed under. Minimum Final Value Fee

of INR 10.00 will be charged. Which means you will be charged the higher of (INR10 or the

FVF for your category).

The fees for Clothing/Accessories and Home linen is 7%.

3) PaisaPay Facility Charges:

PaisaPay Facility Charges are charged to sellers for processing a payment through

PaisaPay.

PaisaPay Facility Charges are as follows:

PaisaPay Service Facility Charge

PaisaPay Online Payments 4.5% + applicable taxes

The above PaisaPay Facility Charges are subject to 14% Service Tax subject to change as

per applicable taxation law.

4. Service Tax:

Selling fees are subject to a 14% Service Tax thereon, where applicable. Service Tax will be

assessed at the time of invoicing

For Example:

For example, you sold a Quilt for Rs.3,000. on ebay.in. Assuming this item attracts a 7%

eBay transaction fee, hence eBay transaction fees amount would be Rs.210.. The Service Tax

on this eBay transaction fee of Rs.210 will be charged at the rate of 14% (i.e. Rs.29.4). The

total amount payable by you for this transaction will be Rs.239.4 (i.e. Rs.210 eBay transaction

fee plus Rs.29.4 Service Tax).
