ROOF/SIDING/GUTTERS/WINDOWS SPECIFICATIONS/BID

The Ashland County Housing Authority is now accepting bids for re-roofing/siding/gutters/windows for a 4-unit rental complex located on Madeline Island.

Please call the Ashland County Housing Authority at 715-274-8311 to receive a copy of the specifications. Sealed bids will be accepted at our office located at P.O. Box 349, 124 Wilderness Drive, Mellen WI until May 20, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Bids opened at 2:05 p.m.

Contractor must carry Liability, Workers Compensation Insurance and must have a Federal ID Number. The Ashland County Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

Blueprints are available at our office in Mellen.

Roof and Gutter Replacement:

Roof Replacement: Building Dimension 101’ X 40’

1. Black Architectural Shingles, 30 Year Warranty2. Remove all existing shingles, felts, and flashings to roof boards. Clean surface of all old nails and

repair surface to a sound condition. 3. New pre-finished painted roof edging (drip edge) shall be installed on all exposed edges.

Chimney(s), vertical wall surfaces, and soil vent(s) shall be flashed with 26 gauge galvanized metal.

4. Two rows of ice and water shield must be installed around perimeter of building and in valleys.5. Soil vents shall be counter flashed with storm collar and masonry chimney(s) shall be counter

flashed. Balance of roof shall be covered with 15# felt as a base sheet. 6. Install starter strip, ice and water shield. Starter strip and first row of shingles must be sealed

and securely fastened to roof deck. 7. Shingles shall be properly lapped and double-nailed as per manufacturer’s specifications. Nails

shall be of sufficient length to penetrate into roof boards. Color of shingles will be the color currently on the roof.

8. Ridge vents shall be continuous vent style. Where shingles overlie flashings, they shall be set in roofing cement.

Gutter Replacement:

1. Replace all current gutters with new.
