BSC Theatre Arts assembles a community cast to present this action-packed musical based on the adored movie about a sorority girl determined to win her boyfriend back, but instead, proves herself to the world. Performances are 7:30 p.m. with a closing 2:30 Sunday matinee. BSC ALUMNI CREATIVE PATH – APRIL 13-14 Steven E. Lillegard creates bronze sculptures in miniature to larger-than-life size at his Stanford, Mont., studio and foundry. His interest in bronze began in Bismarck as a BSC student studying graphic design. A talented cartoonist, caricaturist and sign maker, he also paints and teaches workshops in sculpture, drawing and painting. His residency includes an exhibit in Elsa Forde Gallery in Schafer Hall. headliners 2016 JIM BONNEY – APRIL 18 Award-winning composer, sound designer and guitarist Jim Bonney premieres his new work, “DARKlightNESS,” for electric guitar and band with the BSC Wind Ensemble. Recipient of a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award for original music, Bonney creates music and sound for AAA video games such as “Mortal Kombat” and “BioShock Infinite.” He also designs for movie trailers, documentaries, independent films, television, podcasts and industrial videos. MICHAEL USLAN – APRIL 21 Michael Uslan created the entire Batman movie franchise. He was executive producer for the first “Batman” (1989) through eight more films including “Batman Forever” (1995), “The Dark Knight” (2008), and “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” (2016). He also produced “Catwoman” (2004), “The Lego Movie” (2014) and the Emmy Award-winning TV series, “Where on Earth Is Carmen Sandiego?” A noted authority on comic book history, Uslan worked for DC Comics and taught a college course on comics before doing film. He speaks about his long journey from comic book fan to film producer in Bavendick Stateroom, NECE. W.A.N.D. – APRIL 25 “The Walk Across North Dakota,” a newly published book, was written by five North Dakotans who grew up in Bismarck – Jeremy Bold, Tyler Bold, Gwendolyn Hoberg, Richard Hoberg and Bruce Ringstrom. Over two summers they walked from Beach to Fargo to test physical limits and explore what it means to be from North Dakota. Two of the co-authors discuss their adventure and video shot during the journey in a presentation and book signing at the BSC library.

FRIDAY, APRIL 15 Choral concert, 7:30 p.m., Bavendick Stateroom, National Energy Center of Excellence – Featuring the BSC Concert Choir, Men’s Ensemble, Women’s Ensemble and Chamber Singers in a “Pops + Classical” program with the BSC Jazz Combo. Lee Auditorium – With guest artist Jim Bonney, guitarist, composer and sound designer, in a concert featuring North Dakota premieres of new music composed for wind ensemble, and the premier of Bonney’s new work, “DARKlightNESS” for electric guitar and band.
