The New Style of Digital Photography, Hyperphoto Launches at 28th Annual Artexpo New York. A New Digital Photographic Art Form Debuts in the US at Artexpo New York 2006 March 2nd through March 6th at Javits Convention Center NEW YORK, NY – FEBRUARY 14, 2006 – A new style of digital photography is set to take the industry by surprise at Artexpo New York 2006. Created by French artist and photographer Jean-François Rauzier, Hyperphoto is a large-scale image that is constructed by assembling several hundred close-ups taken with a telephoto lens that combine true photographic and artistic creativity with up-to-date technical expertise utilizing digital technology, often fooling the human eye into believing that it is a simple panoramic photograph. Measuring an eye popping 30 feet in length and a monumental 10 feet high, Rauzier’s piece, “Tree’s Memories” will be on display in the lobby of Javits Convention Center to welcome guests as they enter Artexpo New York 2006. Sponsored and printed by Hewlett Packard and their advanced photographic printingtechnology, Hyperphoto is the latest style in the digital photography revolution. When looking at a Hyperphoto, at first you think you’re looking at an enlargement of a panoramic photograph. Not quite. Look more closely and you absorb a strange atmosphere that distances the viewer from the real world and sucks you into a universe of dizzying amplitude. Each Hyperphoto is a gigantic hyper-realist puzzle, created by assembling hundreds of close-up shots taken with a telephoto lens. CONTACT: Sean-Patrick M. Hillman Corbin & Associates, Ltd. And what better place to showcase this in the US than at the world’s largest art show, Artexpo New York,” comments Rauzier. Artexpo New York, the world’s largest premier fine and popular art fair, will hold its 28th annual exposition, March 2-6, 2006 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. This year’s theme, “Big Apple. Big Art.” speaks to the success of last year’s show and the continuing positive momentum in broad fine and popular art segment. Artexpo New York showcases work for all tastes, budgets and styles while offering artfor both first-time and experienced buyers, priced from $500 to $50,000. In addition to his legendary advertising still-life photographs spanning his over 20 years in the business, the full range of Jean-François’s creative work has been exhibited in Paris and throughout France. Hyperphotos can be seen at the Paris School of Decorative Arts as well as in private residences and corporate buildings in France (nine of them are on permanent exhibition at 65 ave. Champs Elysées) and the U.S. Jean-François has been the recipient of two Digigraphie awards in 2005. The innovation of Hyperphoto and its place in the world of photography was the subject of his recent lecture at the Superior School of the Beaux Arts in Paris.
