Practicing the Shared Book Protocol - Day 1

• Teams of 4 (T/TA)1st: Read through the Big Book together.

*Locate the target vocabulary words in the story. Put post its where you think you might pause and talk with the children

2nd: In pairs, each take a turn and practice Before steps 1-6 on the observation protocol

3rd: In pairs, each practice During steps 1-4.4th: In pairs, each practice After steps 1-35th: Think back on what stood out for you in each

segment of the lesson.*Use pre-selected vocabulary words because these are the words we will assess for word learning.
