LITERARY ACHIEVEMENTS:

City Level:

School team bagged first position in Inter School Quiz

competition organized by Headquarters, National

Hydrographic Office, Dehradun on the occasion of

“Navy Day”.

23 students from APS Birpur participated and bagged

first prize in Category B (class 6-10) and 14 students got

consolation prize in On the Spot Art Competition

organized by UNESCO Club Dehradun.

Khushboo Joshi of Class II bagged Ist position in Hindi

Handwriting Competition whereas Trisha Chettri of

Class I bagged Ist position in English Handwriting

Competition in Inter School English and Hindi

Handwriting Competition.

School Debate team bagged 1st position in Inter School

Hindi debate competition with overall winner trophy

and 1st position in painting competition held at DAV

Dehradun.

APS Birpur students participated in “Slogan and

Painting Competition” Organized by City police to

sensitized students towards Drugs. 9 students

participated in the competition on 01 Dec 2016. The

competition was held at Police Line Race Course

Dehradun. In the above competition 1500 students of 70

schools of Dehradun participated. APS, Birpur team

was declared as the winner in this competition. They

were given the prize for the achievement on 11th Dec 2016

by the Chief Minister Mr. Harish Rawat of Uttrakahnd

during cross country marathon race.

State Level

Piyusha Swarnkar d/o Sub Maj KL Swarnkar of 501 Fd

Svy won 1st posn in Spring Festival (drawing and

painting) in 14-18 Age Group at Governor House,

Dehradun. The theme for the same was Nature Earth.

She was felicitated by Shri KK Paul Honorable Governor

of Uttrakhand.

National Level

APS Birpur Quiz team bagged 2nd position in The OAK

UITRUS Quiz National Inter-School Quiz Competition

2016 held at Mussorrie.

Rohini Sharma Bagged First Position in Quiz at National

ICT Conclave Held at Welham’s Boys School.

HQ 2 CORPS level

APS Birpur Team bagged 2nd posn in HQ 2 Corps Inter

APS debate competition.

APS Birpur Team bagged 2nd posn in HQ 2 Corps Inter

APS Quiz competition.

Command level

APS Birpur bagged 2nd position in Western Command

Hindi Debate Competition.

SPORTS ACHIEVEMENTS:

CITY LEVEL

APS Birpur Football team came 2nd in Invitational Soccer

Tournament held at Indian Public School, Selaqui

School under 14 football team stood Runner’s Up in

Sahodaya Football Tournament.

DISTRICT LEVEL

APS Birpur students won 2 Silver and 4 Bronze Medal in

the District Level Boxing Competition held at Parade

Ground Dehradun.

2 of school students played under 14 district boy’s football

tournament under Kukhri11 club and were Runner’s up.

Mansi Dev of Class X B got first position in Long Jump at

Ist Dehradun District Women Olympic Games.

4 students bagged silver and one bronze medal in Pyka

Taekwondo Championship.

Resham Rana was awarded as best striker in inter club

football tournament held at Dehradun.

STATE LEVEL

Simran Nautiyal of VIII participated in Khelo India

Khelo State Boxing Yuva Kalyan Vibhag, Dehradun 27

Dec- 29 Jan 17and bagged 2nd Position.

01 silver medal in Khelo India Khelo Boxing

Championship was bagged at Dehradun.

APS Birpur Taekwondo team participated in 14th State

Taekwon-do Championship. The championship was held

from 28 to 29 Oct 2016. 29 Schools from Uttrakhand and

08 Open category teams participated for above event.

Total 23 medals have been won by the school team. 05

Gold, 06 Silver and 12 Bronze, The school was awarded

over all 2nd position in District Dehradun and

represented Dehradun District for State Level, where

District Dehradun was awarded 1st position in

Uttrakhand State.

Five students of APS Birpur participated in Pyka Boxing

Championship held at Parade Ground, Dehradun on 23

Nov 2016. The Apsians performed well and brought

laurels to the school. They bagged 1-gold, 1-silver, 3 –

bronze medals.

NATIONAL LEVEL

Manshi of class X participated in National Indian

Women Olympic Association Long Jump & Relay Race

Event Org by Haryana Govt and bagged 2nd position In

Relay Race.

APS Birpur boxing team comprising of 1 x coach and 11

students (5 x girls under 14) and 6 x boys under 17)

attended 6th National Boxing Rural Games-2016 U-14/U-

17(Boys & Girls) at Gurgaon from 17 to 19 Sep 2016. APS

Birpur bagged 2 Silver and 2 Bronze medals in girls

category.

Simran Rathi class IX participated in National Indian

Women Olympic Association Badminton and stood 3rd in

doubles category.

Resham, Parkash, Attit Thapa and Aditya represented

Uttarakhand team in National Rural Federation Games

held at Chennai in September 2016 and bagged 2 silver

medals in all the sports events (handball, football and

Basketball )

School Taekwondo team bagged 02 bronze medals in 31st

National ITF Taekwondo Championship held from 26 Dec

to 30 Dec 2016 at Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat

INTERNATIONAL LEVEL

04 students as part of Indian Hand Ball Team and

coach Ms Sushila Rana, (PET-PRT) of APS, Birpur

participated in 3rd Rural Indo-Bhutan Games from 14

Oct to 17 Oct 16 at PHUEMNTSHOLING in Bhutan.

India won the series by 3-0 and clinched the gold medal

HQ 2 CORPS level

APS Birpur handball team participated in HQ 2 Corps

Inter APS Handball tournament at APS Nahan from 19

Oct to 22 Oct 2016 and won the final beating APS

Chandimandir in Semi Final and APS Ambala in final

match by 19-9

COMMAND LEVEL

• APS Birpur handball team participated in Western

Command Handball tournament at APS Yol camp and bagged

2nd position.

NCC

NCC Camp for selection for Thal Sena Camp was

organized by NCC from 02 Aug to 11 Aug 2016 at MH

complex. Out of cadets, our two cadets named Avnish

Prajapati of X-A and Mukul Kumar of X-D selected for

Pre Thal Sena Camp.

Avnish Prajapati and Mukul Kumar got 1st and 3rd

position respectively in firing. Avnish Prajapati was

awarded gold medal.

Rishika Khattri and Nitish Goswami cadets of this school

represented Uttarakhand and attended RD Parade and

PM rally at Delhi 2017.

Nitesh Kumar Giri of Cl IX and Taneesha Rawat of Cl X

of the school have been selected for - award of CM’s

Silver Medal and Gold Medal along with cash prize Rs

2000/- and Rs 3000/- respectively .

MISCELLANEOUS:

Verbal appreciation at IIMUN: - Miss Kanika Dausani

and Miss Asawari Walkade were given verbal

recommendation.

Rajat Shukla (XII C) won zee singing star competition

and has bagged Scholarship for Rahman Training

Institute at London

Daleep Singh student of Cl XII 2015-16 batch cleared NDA

and 138 SSB at Allahabad in Jan 2017.

Maj Gen SC Mohanty, GOC HQ 14 RAPID (S) and Patron

of the school awarded “GOC’s Appreciation Professional

Excellence award/Medal to APS, Birpur on 21 Mar 2017.
