pecial PTM Feedback After the successful session of 2015-16, Parents were given feedback form to share their experience as a parent in the school. The parents actively participated in expressing their opinion about the school. They appreciated the endeavors of the

management and staff of the school for holistic development of their children. They praised the dedicated staff for the activities conducted in scholastic and co-scholastic areas and for the quality teaching done in classrooms. They thanked the management for having provided good facilities and conducive environment for the growth of their children. The school App kept the parents updated about school activities and events. The parents could communicate with the teachers using the facility of school app.

arewell Class XII on 1st

April 2016 The Farewell “ADIEU” of our first batch of class XII was organized by class XI on 1st

April 2016. The class XII students came all well dressed in formals and were escorted by class XI students.

Welcome speech was given by Himanshu Bisht & then it was handled by Vaibhav Benjwal & Pragya Nice & hearts touching titles along with gifts were given to XII students. Various cultural events were also performed by cl XI students which were really very wonderful & cherishing. Ms Arti & Mr Vishal were chosen Miss & Master APS Birpur after rounds of ramps show and question answer. Others titles like “Star of the Eve”, “well dressed” etc were also given away. And at last but not the least a very motivational & thankful speech was given by the Principal Mrs Bindu Sharma.

nter House Football Competition 12 & 13 April

Inter House Football Competition was held on the 12th & 13th April 2016. The team was selected after trials conducted by Mrs Durga Thapa (Sports in charge) during assembly time and zero period. The matches were played fairly and in good team spirit and sportsmanship. After the semi final matches between the concerned teams, the final match was played between Manekshaw House and Thimayya House. The match was won by Manekshaw House by 1-0.

HEME BASED ASSEMBLY The first theme based assembly was held on 11th April 2016 .

The school Annual Planner Theme was announced which is “Gender Sensitization” to all teachers and students in the morning assembly. A skit highlighting gender disparity was the focus. It sent across a strong message that both the male and female have equal rights and opportunities and parents should treat them equally. Suman and Bipin of class XII B recited a poem that depicted gender sensitization.

ounseling for class XI streams Counseling for the allocation of streams after entrance test and psychological test for

class XI was conducted in the school from 7- 9th April 2016. Mrs. Bindu Sharma, Principal, Mrs. Rashmi Wadhwa, School Counselor and Mrs. Archana Chettri were the part of the counseling team. During the series of sessions students were allocated streams of their choices. Each and every student was called personally and was given road map to achieve their goals.

aisakhi Celebration 13th April 2016 marked Baisakhi celebration in the school. On the occasion of Baisakhi.

Simranjeet of class XII B recited a beautiful poem in Gurumukhi to remind about this beautiful festival and its significance to Punjab and the Punjabi community. Girls and boys from classes VI & VII presented a feet tapping dance dressed in their dazzling attire, which set all in a jubilant mood. Sneh Kumari of Class X D delivered a speech on the significance of the day and how it is celebrated all over India under different names , such as , Baiskhi in Punjab, Pongal in Kerala and Bihar in Assam.

arth Day 22 April 2016 On 22nd April 2016 APS Birpur celebrated Earth Day. On this occasion a special

assembly was organized by Manekshaw House in which there was a speech and a short skit

to sensitize students on Earth Day and make them aware of importance of our earth planet.

On this day 2 more activities were organized for the middle and senior section students. An

open poster making competition was organized for students from class VI to VIII. Senior students made

T-shirts their canvas and displayed their talent. A special tree plantation drive was also organized by

the Primary Wing.

0th Rajeev Khanna Quiz

On 23rd April 2016 our school, represented by Asawari (XI A), Sourabh (XII A) and

Vaibhav Benjwal (XII C) participated in 20th Rajeev Khanna Quiz at Scholar Home.

20 schools from Dehradun Mussorie , Haridwar and Rishikesh took part in this event .

Leaving 14 teams behind, only 6 teams were able to make the cut. Our school was one of them

and became a member of elite top 6 for the second consecutive time. The teams to have

cleared the written round were APS Birpur, APS Clement Town , DPS Raipur , DPS

Sharastradhara , DPS Raipur , St Joseph Academy 3RD .

In the felicitation ceremony, our students were given participation certificate.

arent Orientation Programme

Army Public School, Birpur organized Parvarish An Orientation Programme for the

parents of class I and parents of new students at Birpur Auditorium and for the parents of

class II – V at APS Primary wing in their respective classes. The parents were apprised of

the norms and the functioning of the school. The expectations of the school from the parents and vice

versa were also taken. The newly associated parents were welcomed on joining APS fraternity and

were told about the ERP and other facilities available in school. All the parents were also apprised of

new Evaluation System to be followed in school w.e.f April 2016.

ive Painting Competition 25th April 2016

Inter house Live painting Competition was organized on 25th April 2016 where the students of

class IX-XII made live painting in front of the school.To enhance the creativity and for giving

an ideal ambience music was played in the background which helped students to be more

productive on the canvas.

The following topics were given for the same Ardhkumbh, Save Earth & Gender Sensitization.The

students were provided with the canvas and were told to explore their creativity and imagination.

The audience was spell bound and appreciated the efforts by the students.

Championship held at Doon School on 17 April to 20 April 2016.

Two of the students Simran Rathi IX and Prakash XII were selected for State

Basketball Championship held at Haridwar on 22nd April – 24th April 2016.

Under the OTBF project being held in collaboration with Rosmini Boys School – Newzealand,

a Skype session was held where APS Birpur students interacted with Newzealand students

and shared views on varied topics.
