Myers came to the Garden State from his native Illinois where he had been Bishop of the Peoria Diocese. Prior to that he was Coadjutor Bishop of Peoria. Main Celebrant Most Reverend John J. Myers, J.C.D., D.D. - Archbishop of Newark The Archbishop of Newark since the fall of 2001, Most Rev. John J. Myers, es el quinto Arzobispo de Newark, vino al estado jardín de su estado natal Illinois. Obispo Myers adquirió la Sede de Peoria en el año 1990 y fue llamado a servir a la Iglesia de Newark por el Papa Juan Pablo II el 24 de Julio del 2001 e instalado como Arzobispo el 9 de Octubre del 2001.
