Farmington Hills GIS
• Implemented in 2000
• One full time GIS employee
• ESRI shop, but with history of testing open source apps, Google, & Bing
• No public facing mapping servers
• Looked at AGO since the beginning, but we love it when apps become “free.”

Introduction of ArcGIS Online
• Initial costs weren’t well received in-house
• ESRI 2014 UC changed everything
• Immediately began experimentation
• Economic development excited for inclusion of Business Analyst Online (which then went away)
• Wary on how far credits would allow us to go (Good news? They’re inexpensive!)

First Apps
• Amazing array of templates available
• Story Maps for historic districts first choice
• Experimenting with managing content and hosted feature layers
• Online storage = our biggest credit hit initially (but still only a few dozen credits)
