Just wondering about our charter
members.
With the death of Lester Dankert,
there are only three Trinity Lutheran
Church charter members remaining:
Bill & Jane Kuhlman and Sarah
Schaefer.
For those of us remaining, this
should not go unnoticed. The char-
ter members of the early 1940s laid
the foundation for what has become
a strong and vibrant congregation
committed to faithful discipleship
and support of a Christ-centered mis-
sion grounded in Word and Sacra-
ment. In 1943, the charter members
had the foresight to start a congrega-
tion on the gravel road which was
and is Jefferson Ave. They led the
way for a faithful group of followers
to become a congregation of the
former American Lutheran Church.
These folks demonstrated exception-
al spirit, unselfish financial steward-
ship and broad vision as they built
buildings, began programs, wit-
nessed to Christ in the community
and grew in numbers and faith.
Where would Trinity be today with-
out them?
Next year, in 2013, Trinity will cele-
brate 70 years of mission and minis-
try. Without our
charter members
that mission and
ministry would
not be as vibrant
and important as
it is today. To a
person, those first
disciples would
say with a loud
and thankful
voice, “To God
alone the glory!”
And for their wit-
ness, generosity and steadfastness
during these years we say, “Thanks
be to God!”

A message regarding
financials .
In early February we had a
very uplifting annual
congregation meeting. A
budget increase of 12.3% was
approved as was refinancing
of our mortgage. The budget
increase enables us to have
an emergency fund.
Unfortunately so far this year
we are tracking 35% below
budget (-$68,500) and have
been unable to increase our
emergency fund. We also
budgeted for the organ repair
costs which will be incurred
this summer. Please
prayerfully consider these
circumstances and the
Financial Peace principles we
have embraced as a
congregation.

We Bow our Heads at Mealme

O loving God, every day you love us again. We
see your love on this table, and we praise your
gifts that we may live. Create us into loving peo-
ple, and make our love for those in need reflect
your love for us, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
