Congratulations A-Plenty:

Congratulations to Bryndle Goyins, Violet Pablo, Becca Whitesell, Morgan Malatare, Jus-

tis Haynes, Riley Rogers, Tyler Tanner and Patrick Big Sam on being chosen to play in

the Mission Valley All-Star Basketball Tournament that was held March 24, in Pablo at

the SKC Gym.

Congratulations also to Patrick Big Sam on making the All-Tournament Team for State Basketball!

Our very own Warriors Basketball Team and Coaches ended their awesome season with only 3 losses. They

defeated Northern Cheyenne in the first game, then were defeated by Belt (but only by 2 points) and then

defeated by Manhattan Christian by 4 points at the State Tournament in Billings.

BE PROUD! YOU MADE THE WHOLE TOWN PROUD! CONGRATULATIONS!

Kassidy Rubel, from Arlee High School, and Abbie Ehret from Plains High School, have been chosen to represent the

Blackfoot Cooperative at the Youth Tour in Washington DC on May 31—June 4. Kassidy’s selection was based on an

essay that she wrote to win this honor. Congratulations to our Kassidy Rubel!

Congratulations to Zach Felsman, who won the ACT/OPI Award for Career and College

Readiness for Montana. Zach was introduced to the Board of Regents in Helena by Montana

Governor Bullock who seemed awed by Zach’s accomplishments and commented on Zach’s

articulation. Zach is one of 34 students nationwide to win this award and is now entered into the

national competition which will first select four finalists and finally one winner!

April, 2015 – Junior High News Upcoming Events:

March 30th marks the beginning of our 4th and final quarter of the

year. Activities will soon be hitting high gear so here are a few quick bits of information.

Parent Teacher conferences are on Thursday, April 9th from 4:30pm‐7:30pm. No appointment necessary at

the junior high level, walk in welcome. If you have a questions that you would like to discuss at length with the

teacher, this is a great time to get a meeting scheduled.

Report Cards: Please review all prior quarters on the enclosed report card. If there are any NC marked on

any grades for any quarter you will need to submit an appeal for your child’s grades. Handbook policy states

that appeals need to be submitted when reports cards are received for that quarter. Failure to submit on

time may result in appeal process before our school board for students to advance to the next grade. If

your child received a NC letter please complete the appeal information and return to the office as soon as

possible. Once appeal are received and approved, your child’s completed report card will be mailed.

Appeal letters are sent out each quarter with report cards.

Junior High Awards: On Thursday, April 16th, please join your child at our Annual Awards Banquet at

6:00pm. Presenting students with their incentive certifications for quarters 1, 2 & 3 this year along with a fun

game of JH Jeopardy. Punch & cookies will be available.

Movie Night: As one of the last activities for AJHS, our student council has set up a movie night on April 16th,

following the banquet.

Class Selections for 2015‐2016: On Thursday, April 9th, the current 7th graders will be given their class

selection forms to choose their classes for the next school year, 2015‐2016. Please go over this with your child,

help them pick their 5th & 6th period classes, sign the back side & return it to school with your child. These

class selections work on a first come first get process. Each class selection once returned complete (classes,

parent/student signature); they are numbered in the order received. If your child is one of the first 5‐8 # there

is a good chance they will get their classes they choose. So prompt them to return the completed form ASAP

and remind them they will also be competing with current 6th grade (incoming 7th) for class selections.

Yellowstone Field Trip: Mr. Hill’s annual 8th grade trip is scheduled for May 18th through May 23rd. Parent

meeting and information is scheduled on Wed, 4/22 at 5:30pm. Mr. Hill will send out information to the

parents/guardians about the trip, supplies, schedules etc., closer to trip time. Parents/guardians, or family

members who would like to attend the Yellowstone trip as a chaperone will need to contact Lonnie Morin,

District Clerk at 726‐3216 Ext 2101. Please call if you would like to attend so you can meet all deadlines and

qualifications that allow you to participate.

8th grade Promotion: Eighth grade promotion is schedule for Monday, June 8th, at 7:00pm. There will be

special school hours for eighth grade only on this day. Students will be dismissed around 10:30am and

parents/guardians need to make arrangements for their student after they are dismissed. At this time

students need to turn in their check out forms to the office completed or not. This is the ONLY way we can

verify that a student is cleared. NO STUDENT will be allowed to participate in the ceremony that night if they

have not checked in all text or library books, paid for any lost or damaged books, paid any money owed to

the lunchroom or school and turned in the checkout form. A list of overdue library books will be sent out.

Please keep checking with your child making sure they are on track. In past years, parents have planned the

promotion ceremony, organizing decorations, set up, decoration times. If you are interested in being in on

the planning detail, a meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22nd after the

Yellowstone meeting at the Junior High School.
