Fi$h Sunday of Easter • Weekend of April 23/24, 2016
In today’s Gospel we return to the Last Supper to hear Jesus’
new commandment to love one another. Good stewards, as
the recipients of God’s unending love, take this commandment
seriously. Though we are reminded of his love throughout the
year, it is Jesus’ ac1ons and words during the feast of Passover
that show us the extent of his love and the way we too can live
a life of stewardship: “… love one another. As I have loved you,
so you also should love one another” (John 13:34). Can we ac-
cept this commandment from Jesus? Are we able to embrace
this kind of discipleship? Can we humbly offer ourselves in lov-
ing service to one another?

Love one another!
Question for Children: How do you make obvious that you love your family and friends?
Question for Youth: The world is full of examples of people who don’t love others. What are the results of hate that you see in the world? How would the world be di&erent if we followed Jesus’ commandment?
Question for Adults: Jesus’ commandment to love another is a challenge. What will you do this week to deepen the love you have for those around you in life?

This weeks Second Collection
Many dioceses right here in the United States do not
have enough priests and trained lay ministers to serve
their parishes. These dioceses are known as home
missions. The Catholic Home Missions Appeal, which
will take place this weekend in the second collection,
supports these dioceses by funding essential ministries,
including seminary education and lay ministry training.
Please be generous in this appeal and share your re-
sources to strengthen the Church at home.

A New Earth and A New Heaven It is written in the text that This Earth and this Heaven Will pass away at the Coming of the Lord. A bright new Heaven. A brilliant floating blue Marble of a new Earth, Glistening in holy light, Formed for Sacred Feet. So, as the song goes: "This world is not my home. This life is not my own. I am His and His alone". When we all hear the words, “I make all things new," We will see the face of God.
