Karaoke clubs are comprised of many private rooms each with their own independent sound and lighting systems.

Smaller rooms can typically accommodate up to 12 people. Small karaoke club systems can be somewhat unique

in their requirements.

APPLICATION GUIDE: KARAOKE CLUB – SMALL ROOM

All karaoke club rooms have sound and some also have

automated lighting. HARMAN offers several elements

that make up a full karaoke sound and lighting solution:

speakers, amplifiers, processors, wireless microphones,

and intelligent lighting fixtures. Karaoke systems designed

and installed correctly can really make the difference in

venues operating successfully with plenty of

repeat business.

JBL® Ki series loudspeakers are designed to fit perfectly in

small rooms and operate without a companion subwoofer.

There are three different series in the JBL Ki range, the

Ki300, Ki100 and Ki80 Series, which can accommodate a

wide range of rooms and budgets. The top of the range is

the JBL Ki300 Series which includes the Ki310 and Ki312

loudspeakers. Both are compact 2-way loudspeakers

utilizing two 1" aluminum dome tweeters and a 10" and

12" woofer respectively.

The Ki100 Series includes the Ki110 and Ki112 - two

3-way loudspeakers each with two 3" cone tweeters, two 3"

mid-frequency woofers, and a 10" and 12" low-frequency

woofer respectively. Lastly there are three models in the

Ki80 Series, the Ki08, Ki81 and Ki82. All three of these

are 2-way boxes, each with two 3" high-frequency cone

tweeters and an 8", 10" and 12" low-frequency

woofer respectively.

Most small karaoke club rooms use two to four

loudspeakers which are individually powered and

processed. All three Ki Series lines are designed to be

optimally driven by the Crown® XLi series of

power amplifiers.

Karaoke singers require some unique reverb and effects

to help untrained singers sound as good as possible.

The JBL KX200 dedicated karaoke processor has all the

effects needed as well as digital signal processing (DSP) to

configure input microphones and program material as well

as set up any type of speaker and configuration. The AKG®

KM200 karaoke microphone system can complement

singers of any skill level. It has 200 operating channels and

a selectable power transmission of either 5mW or 10mW

to help prevent interference from room to room.

Small karaoke clubs often have lighting to help create

energy and a party atmosphere. There are many options

from the Martin® RUSH Series from small effect lights to

full on automated moving head fixtures. Many products

in the RUSH Series can operate in stand-alone mode,

without an operator in control, utilizing master and slave

functionality so all lighting fixtures remain in sync.
