The Participation Notices and Examination Regulations

1. Date and Place of Examination

September 7th to 8th, 2012, in Berlin, German

4. Aim and Purpose

Aim: peace, make friends, health, sharing

Purpose: To build a platform for mutual participation and common development

5. Participation Qualification

Shaolin Kung Fu teaching and training institutions of each country or region, martial

arts groups and organizations that open Shaolin Kung Fu courses, Shaolin Kung Fu

individual practitioner, all above can register to participate in.

6. Kung Fu Examination Events

A. Shaolin traditional events

�. Shaolin Boxing: include Shaolin Big and Small Hong Boxing, Shaolin Arhat

Boxing, Shaolin Cannon Boxing, Shaolin Chang Hu Xin Yi Men Boxing, Shaolin

Seven-star Boxing, Shaolin Plum-blossom Boxing, Shaolin Chaoyang Boxing, Shaolin

Back-through boxing, Shaolin TaiZu ChangQuan and other Shaolin Boxing.

�. Shaolin Weapons: include Shaolin short weapons, Shaolin long weapons, Shaolin

double weapons, Shaolin soft weapons and other Shaolin weapons.

B. Shaolin Sparring events

Shaolin Six-conformity Boxing(Ears and Kicking), Shaolin Six-conformity Stick,

Shaolin Six-conformity Spear and other Shaolin Sparring events.

C. Other events

�. In addition to the competition events, other Chinese traditional boxing and weapons

such as Shallow Boxing which is scientific and good for health are acceptable.

�. Sparring events: Unarmed to unarmed, Unarmed to Weapon, Weapon to Weapon

�. Group events: Each team shall be composed of six persons at least (no restriction on

genders). Music shall be accompanied to suit the choreography

7. Age groups in personal routine events

Elementary Level: practice martial arts within one year; Intermediate Level: practice

martial arts within three years; Senior Level: practice martial arts more than three years

8. Participation Approaches

A. Take team as a unit (Shaolin Kung Fu teaching and training institutions, martial arts

groups and organizations that open Shaolin Kung Fu courses) can choose to sign up to

China Shaolin Temple (official website: www.shaolin.org.cn), Shaolin Europe

Association and Shaolin Europe Association members (check the member list on the

official website of Shaolin Temple). All kinds of Shaolin Kung Fu teaching and

training institutions that want to apply to join Shaolin Europe Association and Martial

arts groups and organizations that open Shaolin Kung Fu courses can submit

application form to Shaolin Europe Association (Log on and download application

form from the official website of Shaolin Temple and Shaolin Europe Association)

Shaolin Kung Fu individual practitioner can choose to sign up to the official website of

Shaolin Temple, Shaolin Europe Association, Shaolin Europe Association members

(check the member unit list on the official website of Shaolin Temple), all kinds of

Shaolin Kung Fu teaching and training institutions that want to apply to join Shaolin

Europe Association and martial arts groups and organizations that open Shaolin Kung

Fu courses in order to sign up in unified group.

Each delegation (team) can recommend one people for the head of the delegation, one

people for the leader of the team, two or three coaches, and there is no limit for the

number of competitors and viewing personnel.

B. Routine events participation approaches

�. Each competitor can only apply two individual events (one for Chinese boxing and

one for weapon). Competitor can also join Sparring and team events.

�. Each team can only apply one sparring event; member of each team is limited to

two or three persons, both male and female can attend.

�. Each team can only apply one group event, there is no limit for gender and age, the

number of members should be at least six (the team shall not be arranged for

competition if its members are less than six)

9. Methods of Kung Fu Examination

A. This routine competition adopts Shaolin Kung Fu Examination (trial use)

Regulations of China Songshan Shaolin Temple

B. The same boxing and weapon event in the routine competition will be organized

into groups under unified arrangement. If the number of each boxing or weapon does

not get to five, it will be organized into other classes or merged into previous group.

C. Routine event time

�. Boxing and weapon routines time shall be within 1.5 minutes

�. Sparring routine time shall be at least 40 seconds

�. Group routine time shall be within 4 minutes, music can be accompanied to the

routine (CD or tapes shall be provided by the participating teams). Rap and other forms

are not allowed to appear in the music accompany. Coach or leader of the team is

responsible for playing music as the competition proceed

10. Evaluation Standard

First class: posture is correct, method is clear, action is skilled, power is smooth, style

stand out, and rhythm is distinct

Second class: posture is roughly correct, method is roughly clear, action is roughly

skilled, power is roughly smooth, style roughly stands out, and rhythm is roughly

distinct

Third class: posture is not correct, method is not clear, action is not skilled, power is

not smooth, style not stands out, and rhythm is not distinct

11. Award Method

Each group for each individual event of routine competition will be relatively awarded

Winning Prize and Excellent Award.

The Organizing Committee will set Excellent Organization Award. Taking the

competition team as a unit, award will be conferred according to the numbers of the

participants.

12. Apply and Registration

A. Apply

Each competition team should print the application form in duplicate using A4 size

paper before _31. July 2012_________. One portion shall be mailed to _______, the

other portion shall be kept in the team so that it can be examined conveniently.

13. Expenditure

A. Each participation team should provide expenditure for themselves.

B. Each person of each competition team hands in 20 Euros for examination expense,

10 Euros (use for some space rent) should be added if the competitor wants to increase

or change one event

D. The transportation, accommodation costs and other expenses of this competition

organizer include all personnel to Germany from China Songshan Shaolin Temple will

be undertaken by China Songshan Shaolin Temple and its Dharma group.

E. The place of European Shaolin Culture Festival will be provided freely by Chinese

culture centre in Berlin.

F. The expenses for site rental, opening and closing ceremonies, publicity,

organization, trophies, medal, certificates, transportation and banquets of this

competition will get contributive support from China Songshan Shaolin Temple and its

Dharma group. Donation from all circles is expected.

14. Arbitration committee and referee

Referees will be selected and appointed by China Songshan Shaolin Temple and the

headquarters of World Shaolin Association.

16. Else

A. Participation competitor should independently handle Personal Accident Insurance

and sign Responsibility Statement.

B. Competitors should provide suits, weapons and training appliance for themselves.

C. To ensure the competition order, if competitors have to change event because of

special circumstance, they should submit written application to the conference. If the

application is passed, the competitors have to pay ten dollars for changing one event.
