Application Priority Deadlines
If applying to the College of Architecture, Planning, and Design, your application documents must be received by February 1 (fall semester entry only). You are required to provide evidence of English proficiency prior to this deadline to be considered for admission to this program. Interior design in the College of Human Ecology and Wildlife and Outdoor Enterprise Management in the College of Agriculture also require English proficiency for admission to these programs and have a priority deadline of February 1 (fall semester entry only).
Selection Criteria International students are admitted according to standards established for each country. In general, freshman (first-year) applicants shall have completed secondary school and have achieved at least a 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. In general, students with transfer credit shall have achieved at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Some academic programs require higher grade point averages. Academic documentation must be official and issued directly from the institution. Applicants shall provide complete documentation of all transcripts, including grades or mark sheets, and copies of certificates, diplomas, or degrees earned. For credentials not originally issued in English, certified English translations must be provided. If you do not provide documentation for your complete academic record, your offer of admission may be denied or revoked.
Transfer Credit K-State strongly encourages applicants to submit an academic evaluation report from a credential service. The service must be a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). For a list of current members, please visit: http://www.naces.org/members.htm If the transcript you provide does not have credit hours listed for each course, you are required to submit a credential evaluation in order to receive transfer credit.
Affidavit of Financial Support Students requesting an F-1 or J-1 visa must provide an affidavit of financial support stating that you or a sponsor is able to provide enough money for one year of study at K-State. The affidavit form is included at the end of this application. International Readmits If you have previously attended K-State and have not attended for at least one semester (not counting the summer semester), you must apply for readmission. Please complete and submit the application for international undergraduate admission and the affidavit of financial support. You must also submit any and all transfer work you completed between the time you attended K-State and now. You do not need to repay the application fee. If you were dismissed from K-State, you must also apply for reinstatement. Contact the dean’s office of the college you wish to enter for more information.

English Language Proficiency Documentation You can be conditionally admitted without proof of English proficiency. However, upon arrival you will be required to take the English proficiency test (EPT). The results of the English proficiency test will determine if you will study English, either full-time or part-time, or if you are ready to begin full-time university courses. This is to ensure that you have the necessary English skills to be successful during your time at K-State. You will not have to take the English proficiency test upon arrival if you have achieved one of the following:
Documentation of English proficiency must be submitted to the Office of Admissions before the first day of classes of your first semester. All testing and coursework must have been completed within the last two years. The ETS institutional code (TOEFL and SAT) for K-State is 6334. For more information about the English Proficiency Test and K-State’s English Language Program, please visit: http://www.k-state.edu/elp/admission/ NOTE: You do not need to complete a separate application for the English Language Program if you are applying to a degree-seeking program.
Health Insurance K-State requires all international students and strongly recommends all dependents be covered by health insurance. If insurance is not supplied by a sponsor or agency, upon enrollment for courses, health insurance will be automatically billed to your student account. Health insurance must be maintained during your entire stay at K-State. For more information, please visit: http://www.k-state.edu/isss/current/healthinsurance.html
