If a Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words, What Is a Video Worth?

“If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video is worth a million. Nothing

has as much impact as the moving image. It stirs our passions, our outrage... the

film and television business has been well aware of this phenomenon from even the

earliest days of Edison's invention. The right images put together can tell a very

good story.” (Levinson, 2014)

Definition of Distance Learning Three types of Distance Learning ESL - Independent Home Study – students watch videos and finish workbook lessons at home then meet with a teacher or tutor face to face weekly for about 30 minutes for review, preview and unit assessment.

Blended – students are enrolled in face to face traditional ESL class and also enrolled in DL ESL Independent Home Study program.

Hybrid – students watch videos and finish workbook lessons at home then come to class once a week for a group instruction and weekly unit assessment.
