Speedometer

Digital speed display

The SEAT Digital Cockpit is a digital instru-ment panel with a high-resolution colour TFTscreen. It has 3 view which can be accessed

by pressing the button on the multifunc-tion steering wheel. By selecting different in-formation profiles, displays additional tothose of the classic circular instruments,such as navigation details, multimedia ordriving data, may be shown.

Information profiles

The INSTRUMENT PANEL option (Infotain-ment button / > function button Ve-hicle > View > Instrument panel)allows to choose different options for dis-playing the information shown in the central

area of the circular clocks of the SEAT DigitalCockpit.

Classic View

The revolutions per minute and speedometerneedles are full-length ››› Fig. 1. »

Customising the information displayed in thecentral area of the circular clocks. Only 2 ofthese items of information can be displayedat the same time, but the user chooses whichto display, and in what order, by moving thefinger vertically over the dials.

● Acceleration. Graphic representation of lon-gitudinal and transverse acceleration.

● Audio: Digital display of current audio play-back.

Depending on the equipment, the SEATDigital Cockpit may display a detailed map.

To do this, select the Navigation menu op-tion on the instrument panel ››› page 4.

Depending on the equipment, the navigationmap may be displayed in the SEAT DigitalCockpit or in the Infotainment System or inboth at the same time. If only displayed inthe Infotainment System, the SEAT DigitalCockpit will only display the manoeuvre ar-rows.

Navigation map transfer

Using the map transfer button ››› Fig. 2, themap is transferred from the Infotainment Sys-tem to the SEAT Digital Cockpit and vice ver-sa.

Using the right thumbwheel of the multifunc-tion steering wheel, while in the Naviga-tion menu, the map can be transferredagain to the Infotainment System.

Doors, bonnet and boot open

After unlocking the vehicle and while driving,the display on the instrument panel showswhether any of the doors, bonnet and theboot are open and, if necessary, it may alsobe indicated by an acoustic signal. The dis-play may vary according to the type of instru-ment panel fitted.

Selector lever positions (DSG® dual clutchgearbox)

The current position of the selector lever isdisplayed both next to the lever and on theinstrument panel display. When the lever isin the D/S position, as well as in the Tiptronicposition, the gear engaged at any time is dis-played on the instrument panel display.

Outside temperature display

If the outside temperature is lower than ap-prox. +4°C (+39°F), the external temperaturedisplay additionally lights up the “snowflakesymbol” . This symbol remains lit until theoutside temperature rises above +6°C(+43°F) ››› .

When the vehicle is stationary, when the aux-iliary heater is switched on or when driving atvery low speed, the outside temperature dis-

played may be higher than the actual temper-ature due to the heat discharged by the en-gine.

The measuring range extends from -45°C(-49°F) to +76°C (+169°F).

Gear-change recommendation

While driving, the instrument panel may indi-cate a gear-change recommendation for sav-ing fuel.

Odometer

The odometer registers the total distancetravelled by the car.

The odometer (trip) displays the distancetravelled since the last odometer reset.

● Set the Trip recorder to zero using the Info-tainment System or the multifunction steer-ing wheel ››› page 5.

Speed warning for winter tyres

If the maximum speed setting is exceeded,this will be displayed on the instrument pan-el display ››› page 4.

The settings for the speed warning can beadjusted in the Infotainment System, in thevehicle settings menu. »

Compass display

Compass display

Depending on the equipment, when the igni-tion is switched on, the direction in whichyou drive is displayed on the instrument pan-el display with a symbol, e.g. NW for North-west.

When the Infotainment System is turned onand there is no active guide to the destina-tion, the graphic representation of a compassis also displayed.

Low-consumption driving

When driving, it is displayed on the instru-ment panel if the vehicle is in low-con-sumption status.

Distinctive letters for engine (DLE)

● Select the Operating range informationprofile on the instrument panel (Infotainmentbutton / > function button Vehicle> View > Driving data > Operatingrange).

● Press and hold the multifunction steer-ing wheel button until the Service menu isdisplayed on the instrument panel display››› page 5.

● Select the Distinctive letters forengine menu option.

WARNING

Even when outside temperatures are abovefreezing, some roads and bridges may be icy.

● The “snowflake symbol” indicates thatthere may be danger of frost.

● At outside temperatures above +4°C (+39°F), there could also be ice even when the“snowflake symbol” is not lit up.

● Do not rely only on the outside temperaturedisplay!

Note

● Different instrument panels are availableand therefore the versions and instructionson the display may vary. In the case of dis-plays without information or warning texts,faults are indicated exclusively by the controllamps.

● Some indications on the instrument paneldisplay may be concealed by a sudden event,e.g. an incoming call.

● Depending on the equipment, some set-tings and instructions can also be adjus-ted/made or displayed in the InfotainmentSystem.

● If there are several warnings, the corre-sponding symbols will light up successivelyfor a few seconds. The symbols will remain lituntil the cause is eliminated.

● If, when the ignition is switched on, warn-ings about existing faults are displayed, it ispossible that adjustments cannot be per-

formed and information cannot be displayedas described. In this case, go to a specialisedworkshop and request the repair of thefaults.

Instrument panel menus

The number of menus and informative dis-plays available will depend on the vehicle’selectronic system and equipment.

A specialised workshop will be able to pro-gramme other functions or change the exist-ing ones, depending on the vehicle equip-ment. SEAT recommends visiting a SEAT deal-ership for this.

Some menu options can only be openedwhen the vehicle is at a standstill.

Instruments and control lamps

Service Menu

Various adjustments can be performed in theService menu depending on the equipment.

Open the Service menu

To open the Service menu, select the Oper-ating range information profile (Infotain-ment button / > function button Ve-hicle > View > Driving data > Op‐erating range) and hold down the but-ton of the multifunction steering wheel forapprox. 4 seconds. Now you can navigate themenu with the multifunction steering wheelbuttons in the usual way.

Restart the service interval display

Select the Service menu and follow the in-structions given on the instrument panel dis-play.

Restart the oil service

Select the Restore Oil Service menuand follow the instructions given on the in-strument panel display.

Restart driving data

Select the Reset Trip recorder menuand follow the instructions given on the in-strument panel display.

Distinctive letters for engine (DLE)

Select the Distinctive letters forengine menu. The distinctive letters for en-gine will be displayed on the instrument pan-el display.

Set time

Select the Time menu and set the correcttime by turning the right thumbwheel of themultifunction steering wheel.

Driving data display (multifunctiondisplay)

The driving data display (multifunction dis-play) shows different driving data and con-sumption values.

Switch displays

● Turn the right thumbwheel of the multifunc-tion steering wheel ››› page 8.

Change the memory

Press the button on the multifunctionsteering wheel.

Since start memory

The memory will be deleted if the journey isinterrupted for more than 2 hours.

Since refuelling memory

Display and memory of the driving data andconsumption values collected. When refuel-ling, the memory is erased.

Total calculation memory

This memory collects driving data up to amaximum of 19 hours and 59 minutes or 99hours and 59 minutes, or up to a maximumof 1,999.9 km or 9,999.9 km. When one ofthese maximum values is exceeded (it variesdepending on the version of the instrumentpanel), the memory is erased.

Erase diriving data memories

● Select the memory that you wish to erase.

● Press the button of the multifunctionsteering wheel for approx. 2 seconds.

Select the displays

The driving data to be displayed may be ad-justed in the Infotainment System, in the ve-hicle's settings menu.

Average consumption display

The average fuel consumption is displayedafter approx. 300 meters. »

Operating range display

Operating range display

Approximate distance in km that can still betravelled if the same driving style is main-tained.

Display AdBlue Operating range or Op-erating range 1)

Approximate distance in km that can still betravelled with the current AdBlue® tank levelif the same driving style is maintained. Thedisplay is shown from an operating range ofless than 2,400 km and cannot be deactiva-ted.

Average speed display

The average speed is displayed after approx.100 metres.

Convenience consumers

A list of the connected convenience systemsthat increase energy consumption is dis-played, e.g. the air conditioning.

Set a speed warning

● Select the display Speed warning at--- km/h or Speed warning at--- mph.

● Press the button of the multifunctionsteering wheel to save the current speed andactivate the warning.

● Set the desired speed after approx. 5 sec-onds by turning the right thumbwheel of themultifunction steering wheel. Next, press the button or wait several seconds. The speed

is stored and the warning activated.

● To disable the warning, press the buttonagain. The saved speed is deleted.

The warning may be adjusted for speeds be-tween 30 km/h (18 mph) and 250 km/h(155 mph).

Warning and information messages

The system runs a check on certain compo-nents and functions when the ignition isswitched on and while the vehicle is moving.Faults are displayed on the instrument paneldisplay in the form of red and yellow warningsymbols accompanied by messages and, de-pending on the case, even an acoustic sig-nal. The display of messages and symbolsmay vary depending on the version of the in-strument panel.

Existing faults can also be checked manually.This requires opening the menu Vehiclestatus or Vehicle ››› page 4.

The symbol flash-es or lights up (partly accompanied byacoustic warning signals). Do not car-ry on driving! Danger! Check the faultand eliminate the cause. In this case,you should seek professional assis-tance.

The symbolflashes or lights up (partly accompaniedby acoustic warning signals). Malfunc-tions or lack of operating liquids cancause damage to the vehicle and its fail-ure. Check the function that fails assoon as possible. In this case, youshould seek professional assistance.

Provides informationabout processes in the vehicle.

Note

● Depending on the equipment, some set-tings and instructions can also be adjus-ted/made or displayed in the InfotainmentSystem.

Presence of water in the fuel

Switch the engine off and seek professional assistance.

WARNING

If a vehicle is driven with too low a fuel level,it could stop in traffic and accidents and seri-ous injuries could occur.

● If the level of the fuel tank is too low, thefuel could reach the engine irregularly, espe-cially when going up or down slopes.

● The steering and the driver and braking as-sist systems do not work if the engine runs ir-regularly or if it switches itself off due to lackof fuel or its irregular topping up.

● Refuel as long as there is only a quarter offuel left in the tank to prevent the vehiclefrom stopping due to lack of fuel.

CAUTION

Never run the fuel tank completely dry. If thefuel is not topped up regularly, it may causefaulty combustion and unburnt fuel couldreach the exhaust system. The catalytic con-verter or the particle filter could be damaged!

Note

The small arrow on the fuel gauge next to thefuel dispenser symbol points to the side ofthe vehicle where the fuel tank flap is loca-ted.

Engine coolant temperature display

Cold area. The engine has not yetreached the operating temperature. Avoidhigh engine speeds and subjecting theengine to high stress as long as it has notreached the operating temperature.

Normal area

Warning area. If the engine is subjectedto high stress, especially at high exteriortemperatures, the light emitting diodescan light up in the warning area.

Engine coolant

The control lamp lights up and thecentral warning light flashes red.

The engine coolant level is not correct or there is a faultin the coolant system. Do not carry on driving! »

Operating the instrument panel

● Stop the vehicle, switch off the engine andlet it cool.

● Check the engine coolant level.

● If the warning lamp does not go out even ifthe coolant level is correct, seek professionalassistance.

Some menu options can only be openedwhen the vehicle is at a standstill.

WARNING

Distracting the driver in any way can lead toan accident and cause injuries.

● Never use the menus on the instrumentpanel display while driving.

Note

After charging or changing the 12-volt bat-tery, check the system settings. In case of in-terruption of the power supply, the systemsettings may have changed or been deleted.

As long as there is a priority 1 warning››› page 6, no menu can be accessed. Somewarnings can be confirmed and hidden withthe button of the multifunction steeringwheel ››› Fig. 5.

Select a menu or an informative display

● Switch the ignition on.

● If a message or vehicle symbol is dis-played, press the ››› Fig. 5 button; severaltimes if required.

● To switch menus use the or

››› Fig. 5 buttons.

● To open the menu or the informative dis-play that appears, press the ››› Fig. 5 but-

ton or wait a few seconds until the menu orinformative display opens automatically.

Adjust menu settings

● In the displayed menu, turn the rightthumbwheel of the multifunction steeringwheel ››› Fig. 5 until the desired menu optionis selected. The option is highlighted.

● Press the ››› Fig. 5 button for the desiredmodifications. When the function or systemin question are highlighted, it means theyare enabled.

Return to menu selection

Press the button or ››› Fig. 5.

Note

If, when the ignition is switched on, warningsabout existing faults are displayed, it is pos-sible that adjustments cannot be performedand information cannot be displayed as de-scribed. In this case, go to a specialisedworkshop and request the repair of thefaults.
