TELL THEM FROM ME STUDENT SURvEY 173 students from years 4-6 recently completed a student survey. The survey is a measure of student voice that provides the school with insight into student engagement, wellbeing and experience of effective teaching practices at their school. The beauty of this survey, is the fact that students can confidentially express their opinion about learning and wellbeing at our school. The survey is confidential with over 200,000 students from over 1000 government schools participating. During this term we will share results from the 2017 survey.

On the 27th of April, 2017 6AK and 6K went to Guildford Leagues Club for Peer Support Training. Both classes were involved in many activities including; two stones and six people get across the river, coin pass, team agreements and everyone's favourite a newspaper fashion show. The purpose of all these activities was to learn to collaborate and develop our skills friendship with one and other. These purposes will not only help us in our school life but we also learnt it will help us in the future when we get jobs. This is as in most jobs you will have to work together and we learnt that it can be easier to work as a group and together in a team. Some ways to show you are collaborating are: showing correct body language, listening to opinions, questioning and the most important showing friendship! Samira Kamoda 6AK

Yesterday the 27th of April 2017, we went to the Guildford Leagues Club to develop our leadership skills and prepare for Peer Support. 6AK and 6K walked to Guildford Leagues and were amazed by the looks of the awesome club. We walked into an incredible, wide room to do our work and there were plenty of fun activities to do. An exciting activity we did was a stepping stone activity, whereby we had two newspaper pieces and we had to try to get our group to the other side. Another cool activity was a coin game which we had to balance a coin around our group. My favourite activity was dressing up someone from our group with newspaper as it was really fun! Both classes had an extremely fun time collaborating with each other and we learned a lot! Nicole Tan Terles 6AK

On Thursday the 27th of April,Year 6 and Year 6 teachers decided to visit Guildford Leagues to prepare for our amazing peer support team! We discussed about how to work as a team and collaborate too. We also learnt how to work with other students not just the peers we have already learnt with. We did many creative activities. My favourite part was when we had to create a costume using newspaper, my group and I had lots of fun creating the outfit! I also loved the amazing coin game where you had to pass the coin to your teammates around the circle starting with coin on top of your hand and only using one hand. At the end of every game, all groups had a competition about who had the best outfit and who played the coin game the fastest which was great! The games were so much fun. Year 6 and Year 6 teachers had a great time and we are ready to go to Guildford Leagues again! Anjie Kerdi 6AK

Yesterday (27/4/2017) 6AK & 6K had an amazing day! So, you may be wondering why? Year 6 was lucky enough to have been invited to Guildford Leagues Club for our Peer Support Training. Peer Support is a program where Year 6 leaders are taught about leadership, teamwork and most importantly how to be a role model. We started of by discussing a few housekeeping rules and choosing the groups we wanted to work with, our activities included a heap of fun things! Whether it was games, worksheets or very competitive games. My favourite part of the day was the paper costume wrapping design competition. Every team had to decide on a model and costume, our model was Ray and our costume was a Paper Robot. We faced lots of challenges on the way but with our leadership skills we got it over and done with. “Be the leader you want to follow” Yusef Tarabiya 6AK
