Graduation Requirements

• 1 Common set of requirements for all students• 28 total units required for all students

– 4 units of English Language Arts– 4 units of Mathematics required for all students– 4 units of Science required for all students– 4 units of Social Studies required for all students– 1 unit of Health and Physical Education required for all students

– 3 units of CTAE/Fine Arts/Modern Language in a specific Pathway

– 8 additional electives for all students

How much does the EOCT count?

• For students enrolled in Grade Nine for the first time on or after July 1, 2011, the EOCT counts as 20% of the final grade.

Does my student need to take the Georgia High School Graduation Tests? 

• Students who entered Grade Nine in 2011 – 2012 and beyond will not take, and are not required to pass, the GHSGT.

• ALL students are required to take and pass the Georgia High School Writing Test.

Extra‐curricular activities help with college and scholarship applications!

– These activities are a great way for students to gain valuable experience and demonstrate skills to college and scholarship review committees.

– Encourage your student to participate  in extra‐curricular activities at school or in the community
