1 AP 1120

1.1 Feature description

The AP 1120 supports the connection of Group 3 Fax devices, analog Modems and voice ter-minals via IP. The installation is done via the board STMI2 (Q2316-X / - X10) as HG3530 (FC-TID=3) in the HiPath 4000 V2.0. It is also possible to use the AP 1120 on a HiPath 3000 with H323v3 and SIP. In the HiPath 4000 V2.0 the Codec G.711 is supported. The AP 1120 is ad-ministered with the Tool “Unit Management Network (UMN)”. All settings, which are necessa-ry for the HiPath 4000 V2.0, and Software-Updates have to be done by this UMN-Tool.

1.2 Indicators and connectors

Ready: Is ON, if the AP 1120 is registered at the HG3550 (PABX-Address and Subs- criber number must be set).

In Use: Is ON, if one of the two device ports are busy (Port 1 or/and Port 2).

LAN: Is ON (or blinking), if there is a connection to the IP network (Layer 1).

Power: Is ON, if the AP 1120 is supplied by the power-supply.

AP 1120 Siemens

Computer: A 10/100 BaseT Ethernet RJ-45 connector that can be connected into the net-work card of a computer. In this case, the HiPath AP1120 acts as a small Ether-net switch. It is possible to use either a cross-over or straight Ethernet cable toconnect in the Computer connector. The Computer connector performs auto-matic MDI / MDIX detection, meaning that it adapts to the type of cable connectedto it.

Network: A 10/100 BaseT Ethernet RJ-45 connector for access to a LAN, WAN or compu-ter. It can also be used as remote power feeding and is IEEE 802.3af compliantand Power DSine certified. It is possible to use either a cross-over or straightEthernet cable to connect in the Network connector. The Network connector per-forms automatic MDI / MDIX detection, meaning that it adapts to the type of cableconnected to it.

1.4 Settings in the AP 1120

1.4.1 Checking the loaded AP 1120 software

● Start Unit Management Network (UMN) and connect with the Unit Manager.

1.4.1.1 With DHCP resp. known IP-Address

● Device scanning

The AP 1120 must be loaded with the CorNet-IP software. If the AP 1120 is not loa-ded with the right software, a flash action is necessary (see “Loading AP 1120 Soft-ware (Flashing)”). For flashing an AP1120 the Tool UMN and a TFTP software is necessary on the Admin-PC.

1.4.1.2 Without DHCP for the first installation

● Connect the AP 1120 with the Admin-PC

Connect the AP 1120, Port “COMPUTER”, with the Admin-PC directly (straight or crossed over cable can be used). Change the IP-Address of your PC, e.g. to 192.168.0.20 with Sub-net-Maske 255.255.255.0.

The Default IP-Address of the AP 1120 is 192.168.0.1.

Select the AP 1120 and check the loaded software.

● Device scanning

Start a Reboot in “Recovery Mode” . To do this, press and hold the “Default Setting Button” between 5 and 10 seconds, until all LEDs start blinking.

1.4.2 Preparation for Loading AP 1120 Software (Flashing)

The Tool “Unit Management Network (UMN)” must be installed on the Admin-PC.

The directory-/file-structure of the TFTP-Server (PC):

If an AP 1120 is changed from H323 resp. SIP to CorNet-IP the loaded software (H323 / SIP) is downloaded again before the CorNet-IP-Software can be transfered. If it is an Upgrade of a CorNet-IP version to a newer one the download of the same software is not necessary. After a Software change from H323/SIP to CorNet-IP a “Factory Reset” must be executed !!!

Only an AP 1120 with Software H323 v4 can be migrated to CorNet-IP v1 !!!

To backup the AP 1120 data, a file with the name MacXXXXXX.cfg is created on the Admin-PC (Upload). This file can be restored during trouble shooting or AP 1120 change (Download). So the AP 1120 has not be configured again in case of error.
