The first meeting was held on April 2016 at US Department of State. In the following year, the second meeting was held at Embassy of Italy in the US. And this time, the third meeting was opened.

The event was started with welcome remarks by Mr. Kazutoshi Aikawa, envoy extraordinary and minister plenipotentiary of Japan, and Mr. Jonathan Margolis, deputy assistant secretary for science, space, and health of the US.

In session 2: "Japanʼs Space Weather Efforts and Outlook", Dr. Hideyuki Tokuda, the president of NICT reported the current status of NICT's space weather research.

Also, during session 4: "Toward Improved Space Weather Services and Preparedness", Dr. Mamoru Ishii, director of NICT Space Environment Laboratory introduced attempts of utilizing state-of-the-art research results under domestic collaboration in the “PSTEP (Project for Solar-Terrestrial Environment Prediction)”, and participated in the panel discussion which was continuously held.
