Visit www.AoFAQualificaons.org for details Q Qualifications Qualificaon overview The AoFAQ Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work is designed for anyone who needs to or would like to become an accredited emergency first aider in the workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulaons 1981. This regulated qualificaon provides learners with the skills and knowledge to deal with first aid situaons in low risk work environments. It is valid for three years. Important Notes for the Employer: By selecng an AoFA Qualificaons approved training provider, the employer can be confident that the qualificaon is regulated and recognised by the HSE. Non-regulated or non VAS qualificaons may not be HSE compliant resulng in the employer failing to fulfil their statutory dues. See HSE document GEIS3 for details. An employer is required by Law to make appropriate first aid arrangements in the workplace. This is assessed through a first aid needs assessment. The results of the assessment should determine the type of training and the number of emergency first aiders required in the workplace. The qualificaon is valid for three years, however the Health and Safety Execuve strongly recommend aendance at annual refresher training comprising of a three hour update. For higher risk work environments, refer to the AoFAQ Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work qualificaon.
