SENIOR CORNERSENIOR RESOURCESSenior Meal Options Schule Haus Meals are also served in the Schule Haus Senior Center Monday through Friday at 11:15am for seniors and disabled people of the community who can come to the center to eat. It is congregate dining and the prices (donations) are calculated on an ability-to-pay basis. Meals to go (called Olivers) are also available. Call 952-492-2208 for more information.Meals-on-Wheels The CAP Agency (Dakota, Carver and Scott Counties) Meals-on-Wheels program for Jordan is run out of the Schule Haus facility. Senior citizens who live in Jordan and the surrounding area and who are “shut-ins” due to health and mobility issues can sign up to have a noon meal delivered to their home Monday through Friday. Use of School District Facilities Rental Our schools and facilities are available for group use and rental. To request use of space within Jordan Public Schools, you are asked to obtain a facility use permit (reservation). Depending on the organization, permits are issued for both no cost facility use and for facility rental. Jordan Public Schools are available to public organizations and groups with adequate insurance and are subject to policies and procedures outlined in the facility use policy (with costs, etc). It is important to note that submitting the request is not a guarantee of a reservation. You will receive an email notification when the request has either been approved or denied. Facility use applications are available at Facilities Scheduling located at Jordan High School or on the district website.

City of Jordan Park Facilities Rental Lagoon Park has five shelters (two large, one small, a gazebo, and an enclosed shelter) available for reservation. Individuals/groups are only able to reserve park shelters, not the use of the entire park. Reservations are made through Jordan Public School District Facility Scheduling by emailing [email protected] or call 952-492-4481.Permit cost is $50 per shelter for Jordan residents and $75 for non-residents. There is also a $150 per shelter refundable deposit required at time of reservation for all parties. You must bag trash and you may leave it at the shelter. Events over 100 people or including alcoholic beverages must obtain a special event permit from the City of Jordan at 952-492-2535.

COMMUNITY RESOURCESImmunization Clinics (952) 496-8555 Minnesota state law requires that all children attending ECFE programs on a weekly basis have their immunizations up-to-date. This program will be only one of many times you will need an up-to-date shot record for your child. If your child is behind in immunizations, he/she can catch up. Scott County residents may receive immunizations at their doctor’s office or at the following clinic: Every Monday 1:00-5:00 pm. Cost is $10 per shot. No one will be refused if unable to pay. Please bring immunization records to the clinic. CAP Agency/Head Start (952) 496-2125 The CAP Agency is a private non-profit organization that provides services to residents of Scott, Carver and Dakota Counties.

Parent Warmline (952) 863-6336 The Parent Warmline is a free consultation service through Mpls. Children’s Medical Center for parents who need support and practical information about behavior and development of young children. Volunteers with professional training and expertise in such fields as parent education and child development will return your call.

Crisis Nursery (612) 839-5101 The Crisis Nursery welcomes calls from parents in any situations needing a sympathetic ear, some parenting tips, or information about community resources. In a crisis situation, the Crisis Nursery may be able to provide short-term child care for children ages newborn to 12 years, when their families are residents of Scott or Carver Counties. Trained advocates are available to help during a crisis.

WIC (Women, Infants & Children) (952) 496-2125 This program provides nutrition information and counseling for pregnant and nursing mothers. Counseling includes information on supplemental foods such as milk, cheese, juice, cereals and infant formula to promote good health. WIC eligibility is based on household income guidelines. If you are currently eligible, voucher pickup days are the second Monday and fourth Tuesday of each month, at the CAP Agency, located on 712 Canterbury Road in Shakopee. Otherwise, appointments must be made in advance by calling.

SEAC (Special Education Advisory Council) A group that provides input on special education issues to its local school district. SEAC meets quarterly during the school year. For more information call Chad Williams, Jordan Special Education Director, at (952) 492-4230 or [email protected]

Jordan Area Food Shelf On Facebook @jordanareafoodshelf The Jordan Food Shelf is located at 321 Water Street in Jordan. It is open every Saturday of the month from 9am to 12pm and the second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Residents of Jordan are allowed to access the food shelf once a month.
