Before ADVOCARE, my life was completely different. A working mom with threechildren, I was challenged with being overweight and a lack of energy. Iweighed 223 pounds and was wearing a size 20W. I had been using anotherweight-loss program but wasn’t getting the results I wanted. Then I went to amixer held by Todd and Jacquie Pierce in August 2004. From that day, my lifehas drastically changed. My husband Scott and I instantly began experiencinggreat results. Your success in ADVOCARE isdirectly and inseparably tied toyour planned, persistent andproductive daily activity. Wecall it the “DMO” (DailyMethod of Operation), butwhatever you call it, there isno doubt your short- and long-term progress is found here.
PLANNED: Each night beforebedtime, take a blank sheet of paper and plan yourADVOCARE activity for thenext day. Define precisely
how much time you have for ADVOCARE and exactly wherethose minutes and hours are in the day. Decide how you willactually use the time to retail and recruit. The methods for thatactivity are phone calls, personal contacts, mixers, 3-way callsand 2-on-1 presentations. Determine the people you willcontact, why you are contacting them and what you will say.Write it all down on that blank sheet of paper and you will wakeup “employed” the next day. Remember, proper planningpromotes productive performance!
PERSISTENT: The focused, disciplined use of your time for thosespecific activities will be where the rubber meets the road. Lifeis filled with daily distractions that can, if you allow them, stealaway those important moments for getting results and achievinggoals. Working “on purpose” and holding yourself accountablefor doing what you planned is a very simple and powerfulmindset; develop and reinforce it daily with action.
PRODUCTIVE: Maximize your best moments and hours withresult-producing, goal-achieving activities - defined as anythingwhere you are talking to people about the ADVOCARE incomeopportunity and/or the ADVOCARE products, and asking themto take the next step. Obviously time is required for deliveringproduct, ordering product, returning calls, handlingissues/problems, bookkeeping, etc. HOWEVER, put 80% of your efforts into the activities that move people forward, and find other moments for the rest. The real business happensface-to-face with prospects: stay there as much as you possibly can.

During the last seven years, wehave learned that Membersstrive for individualrecognition. In fact, recognitionamong peers can have greaterimpact than a paycheck. Thekey for leaders is to keep itsimple and reward those whodeserve it. When Membersare rewarded among theirpeers, it can lift them toanother level of confidence.
As a leader, there aremany ways to motivateand reward your teamthrough your own
incentives. First,determine the goal of the incentive or reward.
Several types of incentives are possible: P/GV (personal/group volume)incentives, override growth incentives, recruiting and retailing incentivesand annual team awards. Choose an incentive that best meets your goal.Next, set a timeframe for the incentive with firm start and end dates.Gloria and I typically initiate a team incentive from one Success School tothe next, depending on the timeframe. Three to four months is usually agood choice. Another great way to help grow your team is to hold a majorconference call and empower your leaders to share in the unveiling of theincentive. This builds enthusiasm as well as encourages shared ownershipfor motivating the team.
Reward and recognition are vital, and are the most important aspects of an incentive. It’s important to choose rewards that get people excited.We have given out t-shirts, books, dinners, Success School tickets,trophies, special plaques and weekend vacations. We’ve awarded Members the opportunity to share a photo with important leaders.Whatever you choose, it should be special, fun and have wide appealthroughout your organization.
Lastly, celebrate success as a team. If at all possible, reward individuals in front of all team members. You really can mold a team with the right atmosphere.
Some of our incentives have been very successful; some have not. We learnby trial and error, and so will you. Don’t worry about spending a lot ofmoney – it’s not the amount you spend but the “buy-in” you receive fromyour team members. Keep it simple. Empower your leaders to duplicatethe reward system and you will build a team committed to excellence.

Reward and Recognition Build a TeamADVOCARE’s Regional Rallies kicked off with a resounding
success in Arlington, TX. Close to 700 people participated in theenergy and inspiration. “It was an opportunity for them to see,sense and feel all that is possible for them and theirorganizations,” said Rick Loy, Senior Vice President of FieldOperations. The possibilities absolutely sparkled in the story ofNorma Gillespie, the very first ADVOCARE Distributor, whocontinues working to help others achieve their goals. Valuableinsights into the effectiveness and safety of ADVOCARE productscame from World-Class Endorsers Bob King, Push Coach forTeam USA Skeleton, and Rob Glass, Director of Strength andConditioning at Oklahoma State University.
The momentum kept going with the unveiling of great newproducts, including the much-anticipated Crave-CheckTM. In keeping with the excitement, rewards were earned withLeadership Pins and the presentation of the $25,000 to theSouth Regional Rewards Earners.

Saturday in the South fired up with comprehensive andinformative product training from distinguished members of theScientific & Medical Advisory Board, showing the superiority ofADVOCARE products and all the details of core and newproducts. Then, the participants were captivated by the inspiringstories of Brad Lee and Joel & Jackie Holcomb, the South’s RisingStars. Still going strong, local leadership shared valuable tipsand training on how to package your story, the importance of asense of urgency in your organization, what to look for in abusiness builder, the benefits of reaching the Advisor level, andthe vital role of a sponsor. Rick Loy gave everyone an extra boostwith a review of the Advisor Island and Wheels-n-Fortuneincentives, while Ron Reynolds and Brian Altman ended the rallywith a discussion of the power of the Success System and how tomake the most of it.
Steve Shklar summed it up: “This rally was designed to energizeus, inform us, teach us and train us in every area. I believe wecan all exceed our expectations. I encourage people to attendevery Regional Rally they can. It will set that momentum forSuccess School and the following year.”
