All this (manifested universe) was within God.ThisstatehasalsobeendescribedbyGuru Nanak as follows: +ii+lii+ii+ill-+ili:i+(il.+c.:|HefurtherexplainsthatGodthoughtof creatingtheuniverseandthe'Word'emanated fromHim.ThisledtoallthecreationbelowSat Lok.Firstofall,Satpurushcreatedsixteensons (sixteenmanifestationsorpowers),Niranjan beingoneofthem.Saintsnamehim'Kaal'or Brahm.He(KaalorBrahm)worshipedSatpurush for 70 yugas and obtained in reward his right for aseparatecreation.Againhe(Kaal)worshipped for 64 yugas and obtained a huge number of souls fromSatpurushandincollaborationwithprimal Maya(Shakti)thethreemainGods,Brahma, Vishnu,Maheshwerecreated.Tothesefouri.e. Anurag Sagar part - I Baba Kehar Singh Jivi Brahma,Vishnu,MaheshandprimalforceMaya, was given the control of all the creation below Sat Lok.He(NiranjanorKaal)wasthencompletely absorbedinthemeditationofSatpurushand primal force Maya was instructed not to reveal his (Kaal's) identity to his three children. Guru Nanak Sahib also describes this as follows: +ii:l-li:,l-l-ii:+ii,:+=ii,:+iiiill-=il--i,li +iiiiili-iliiil-iiliilil-+i(iil|PrimalforceMayagavecreationofthis universetoBrahma,sustenanceoftheuniverse toVishnuanddestructionoftheuniverseto Mahesh. After this Niranjan (Kaal) having created four Vedas and various religions through Brahma, started his own worship by all the souls. The souls weresobeguiledthattheyforgottheirreal 'Home'andreal'Master'.Themindwas associatedwithallthesoulsandtheywereso entangledinvarious'Karam-Kand'(Rituals)that no soul of its own could escape to his real home. Andthesoulsweregovernedbysevere punishments. Anurag Sagar part - I Baba Kehar Singh Ji viiSatpurushwasmovedtoseethesoulsin griefandfirstofallaskedhisenlightenedsoul (KabirSahib)togoandfreethesoulsfromthe clutches of Kaal and bring them to Him. Under the orders of Satpurush, Kabir Sahib appeared as Sat SukritinSatyugaandcounseledafewsoulsfor therealworshipofSatpurush.KaaltoldKabir Sahibthathe(KabriSahib)couldnotenterhis kingdom.KabirSahibsaidthathewasgoing undertheordersofSatpurushtoawakenthe souls and if he (Kaal) tried to stop him, he (Kabir Sahib)coulddestroyhiskingdominamoment. HearingthisKaalsaid,"Iamgoverningthrough yourgraceonly.Beforegoing,pleasepromise that you will not show any miracle to the souls to followyou.Youwillholdsatsangs(spiritual discourses)forenlightenmentandforpreaching. Youmaymakeanysoulyourfollowerifhe acceptsyoursayings."AndKabirSahibgavehim thisboon.Hadthisboonbeennotgiven,how easyitwouldhavebeenforthesaintstomake the souls their followers by showing miracles. Kabir Sahib has described all the four yugas in this book. "Kaal Mat" (or the path of the Kaal) and"DyaalMat"(orthepathoftheSaints)have beendescribedindetail.Ihavebeenlisteningto thisteachingsincechildhoodinthesatsangsof BabaBaggaSinghji,BabaDevaSinghjiand Baba Pratap Singh ji. Anurag Sagar part - I Baba Kehar Singh Jiviii Therewasalotofdemandfromthe devoteesthatthesecretsofAnuragSagar, Kaalmat and Dayalmat may be explained. So with thegraceofBabaji,Ihavestarteddelivering satsangs serially on this teaching. Kabir further says that earlier he would see darkness on closinghiseyesbutnowheseeslightinsteadof darkness. Now the soul tastes the 'Amrit', the like of which does not exist on earth." A diamond is valued only by a goldsmith."i::iiiiiil--i:iliil-i:ll+Once a potter found a diamond in the soil and he tied it around the neck of his donkey. He wenttoashopkeeperalongwiththedonkey. Theshopkeeperaskedthepotterthesourceof this shining thing. The potter said he found it in Anurag Sagar part - I Baba Kehar Singh Ji4thesoil.Theshopkeepersaid"Itisvery beautiful.Pleasegiveittome."Theshopkeeper paidthepottertenrupeesforthediamondand shopkeeper's wife tied it to the weighing balance. One day a goldsmith visited the shopkeeper. On seeingthediamond,hethoughtthatitmustbe worth a crore of rupees. He paid the shopkeeper twenty rupees and took the diamond and in turn solditforacrorerupeesinthebazaar.Hence onlyagoldsmithcouldrecognizeadiamond. Therefore it is said:iiiiiiii:ii,-ii-iiSimilarly rare is the person who recognizes aSatGuruhavingknowledgeofthe'Word'. Onlysixteenpersonswereinitiatedto'Word'in Satyugand22inTretayugabyKabir.Thereis nosuchrecordforDwapuryuga.Butmany persons recognized Satpurush in this Kalyuga.OnewhorecognizesaSatGuru,listensto histeachingswithfullattention,acceptsHim from the heart and obeys his orders.Duringhistour,Kabironcemetasweet sellersittingproudlyinhisshop.Mercifully, Anurag Sagar part - I Baba Kehar Singh Ji 5Kabir said to him "Please come to Satsang." The shopkeeperaskedhisservanttogivetwojalebis (sweet)tothishermit.Kabirsaid"Idon'twant jalebis." Sweet seller inquired "Then what do you want?"Simultaneouslyheorderedhisservantto givehimafewcoinsalso.Kabirsaid,'Idon't wantmoney,too."Thesweetsellersaid,"You wantneitherjalebis,normoney.Thenwhatdo youwant?Itismytimetoattendtothe customers.Whyareyouobstructinglikethis?" Kabir said "Time is very less. Please do come to Satsang."Theshopkeeperaskedhisservantsto push him away from the shop. And the servants didlikewise.Kabircametotheshopafterafew daysandsaid,"Gentleman,nowverylittletime hasbeenleft.Cometosatsang." Thesweetseller said to his servant, "Don't let such persons come tome.Ofyourown,pushthemawayfrom sight."TheservantsturnedKabirout.After sevendays,Kabiragaincameandrequestedthe sweet-sellerhumblytoattendtheSatsang.The servants tried to push him away. Being well-built, Kabirstucktohisplace.Thenaservanthithim ontheheadwithanironrod.Kabir'sheadwas broken,thebloodwascomingoutandhis Anurag Sagar part - I Baba Kehar Singh Ji6clothesweredrenchedintheblood.ButKabir remained humble and said "Seth Ji, now the time is really very less. Do come to the Satsang." The sweetsellerpaidnoattentiontohim.Aftera week when Kabir came again, the sweetseller had alreadydied.Kabircametothesweetseller mercifullybuthedidnotvaluehisadvice.The moralofthestoryisthatonlyveryfewpeople recognizethesaintsintime,getinitiationofthe Word and then merge in the Lord through it.Saintscomeintotheworldtodogoodto us.Theywanttoliberateusfromthiscycleof eighty four. We should not quarrel with them but shouldgetenlightenmentfromthemandacton theirteachings.Thesweetsellerwouldhave definitelybenefitedifhehadrecognizedSaint Kabir.--i-iiii:-:i:-ii--i::i:+Kabirsays,"Listen,youhavegotpriceless treasures in your body." Gettingakeyof'Word'fromtheoutsideSat Guru,thenpracticingItwecanreachHim inside. We have to remove the darkness of 'Moh' frominsidebythelightoftheteachingsofthe SatGuru.Onlythenshallwebeabletoseethe pricelesstreasureinside.KabirsaystoDharam Dass"Iamgoingtowritethebook"Anurag Sagar". Only a rare great soul will understand its secret or recognize its importance."Anurag Sagar part - I Baba Kehar Singh Ji8iii::--iiiiiilii-i-i-Kabirsays"Iamgoingtowritethebook 'AnuragSagar'.Veryfewpeoplewillunderstand itslanguage.Suchpeoplewillhavetheburning desiretomeetGod."JustasJapujiisthekeyto Granth Sahib, Anurag Sagar is the foundation of SantMat,itisabaseofSantMat.Kabirsays, "OnewhodoesnotunderstandAnuragSagar (inneroceanofLove),hewillalwaysremainon the periphery of Sant Mat, even though he might thinkofhavinggoneinside.ThereforeIam goingtodescribeeverythingoftheinner worlds".ThesecretofNirvanPadorSatLok will be revealed in Anurag Sagar.i--i:-lilii:i=iiil--iii-i-liiiiiliii-iBowingatthefeetofKabir,DharamDas begs,"SatGuru,Ihaveadoubtinmymind. Anurag Sagar part - I Baba Kehar Singh Ji 9Pleaseremoveit.Thedoubtis,whatisAnurag orLove?HowdoesonefeelwhenLoveor Anuragsproutsfromwithin?Howcanwe recognizeapersonwhoisAnuragiorLove-bitten?Alllookalikefromoutside.However somearesopowerfulthatawordfromthem bringsaboutpunishmentofdeathtoaperson. DevoteesofGodlikeGuruNanakwere tormentedandputbehindbars.Howtofind whetheroneisAnuragi(i.e.LoverofGod)or not?Yes,atleastIdounderstandthatwithout love,separation,painandburningdesire,one cannot meet God."i--i:iil--i:iiii:liiiii:iilil--i-ii-iiili:-iil-i-iiii-i-iKabir says, "Dharam Dass, you have asked the questions, now listen to the answers with full attention. The signs of a person in love with God aresoothing.Thedeerlovessound.Thehunter takesadvantageofthisandplaysasoundofits Anurag Sagar part - I Baba Kehar Singh Ji10liking.Thedeercomesrunningandplacesits headinthelapofthehunter.Thedeerhasthe leastdoubtthatithasreachedinthelapofthe hunterandthatthehunterwillbutcherit.Itis notafraidofthat.Thelove,theattachmentof soundcreateddetachmentinthedeerandit came running after the sound. This is an example of Anurag or love.This is a story from Lyalpur and its deputy commissionerwhobelongedtoSialkot.Hisold motherwasfondofgoingtoBaisakhifestival anddancingthere.WhenBaisakhifestivalcame, sheaskedhersontotakehertothefestivalas shewasnotsureofherlastingtoliveforthe nextfestival.Deputycommissionersaid, "Mother,youwillstartdancingonreachingthe festival&thiswillbringshame(insult)tome." Themothersaid,"Youtakemethere,Iwillnot dance."Butonreachingthere,hearingthebeat ofthedrum,shecouldnotcontrolherselfand started dancing. The people were stunned to see thisoldladydancingwithsuchaforce.Some onerecognizedherandsaidthatshewasthe motheroftheD.C.Peoplecaughtholdofher and put her in the car. The moral of the story is thatwhenapersonisdetached(fromthe surrounding),heloosesher Anurag Sagar part - I Baba Kehar Singh Ji 11awareness/consciousness.Thislossof consciousness is called Anurag or love. He is not afraidofsocialshameandhisGuru'sattention compelshimtocomerunningfora'darshan'. This Anurag (or love) manifests in Sahaj state.-i=iii-iiii-iiiii-il--l-i-i-i-i-l-iilil-l-iiAnuragipeoplearerecognizedoftheir own. The moth does go to the lantern whether it belongstorichorpoor.Reachingthelantern,it might burn itself. Anuragi (or lovers of God) are similarlyattractedtotheSaintsandtheycome runningtothem.Kabirfurthersaysthatthe Anuragigetsinitiationfromalivingsaint, practices Naam, sees light inside and contacts his Guru in the form of sound current.--iiOnlytheliberatedoneliberates.Guru Sahibsays,"IhavecontactedaGuruwhoisa liberatedoneandHecanalsoliberatemefrom Anurag Sagar part - I Baba Kehar Singh Ji12thisroundofeightyfour(i.e.births&deaths)." Guru Amar Dass says:iiili:iii:(i...+z:.|ItmeansthatIgotinitiationfromaliving Saint,practicedNaamandthen'Word'- manifested-Gurucaughtholdofmefromthe armandtookmealongwithHim.Thisisthe signofaGuruthatHetakesthediscipleoutof the darkness and shows him the light within. In olden times, the wife would burn herself onthepyreofherdeadhusband.During burning, the woman would not move her body at all.Duetoseparationfromherhusband,she alone would burn herself leaving behind property money and friends.-iii-i-i-iii-ii-illli-lll-- li-ili-il--iiiliiiiiPeople would bring her son to her and tell herthathewoulddiewithouther.Theywould attempttocreateinheranattachmentforhim Anurag Sagar part - I Baba Kehar Singh Ji 13by reminding her that the house would be empty without her. They would further tell her that her husbandhadleftalotofproperty.Shewould notfaceanyhardshipinlifeandsheoughtto savethedestructionofhome.Therelatives wouldcrybutshehadonlyonethinginher mind - love of her husband. Nothing appealed to herexceptherhusband&shewouldsitinthe pyretoburnherself.Allrelativesaskedherto comebacktohomebutshewouldnotlistenas the love of her husband attracted her.-l-l:iii,ii:i-iiiii,il-iiiiil-il,i:iii-il:iii,-i--iDharamDass!thewomanwaspersuaded insomanydifferentwaysbutnothingaffected her. She would say, "After living for a while, one has to die. At death time, all these things will not help. Then why not die now with my husband."Sheadvisedherfriendsandsaid,"Allof you,too,shouldunderstandmyviewsand Anurag Sagar part - I Baba Kehar Singh Ji14should live at the feet of your husband when he dies, i.e., burn yourself along with him." Anotherexampleisthatoftheking Bhartarihari.WhenkingBhartarihariwentto palacefromhis'Darbar',thequeeninquired aboutthecauseofhissadness.Thekingsaid, "There is nothing to worry." The queen persisted andthekingsaidthathesawtodayanevent whichhehadnotseenbefore.Myministerdied today.Whenhispyrewaslit,hiswifeplacedhis head in her lap and burnt herself along with him. Hearingthis,thequeensaid,"Howshoulda faithfulwomanbehaveaccordingtoyou?"The queeninquiredaboutthetimeofdeathofthe Minister.Thekingtoldherthathediedat10 a.m.Thequeenagainasked,"Andwhenwashe cremated?""At4p.m.",thekingreplied.The queen said, "How could she remain alive from 10 a.m.to4p.m.?Thewifeisfaithfulonlyifshe givesupherlifeassoonasthehusbanddies." Thekingthoughtthatthequeenistellingalie. She should be tested. The king went on thinking about this matter for two months. And then one day, he tore his clothes, sprinkled some blood on them and asked his minister to give these clothes to his wife with the information that the king had diedduringhunting.Theministercametothe Anurag Sagar part - I Baba Kehar Singh Ji 15queenandsaid,"O,queen!theseareking's clothes."Thequeenrecognizedtheclothesand inquiredaboutthedetails.Theministersaid,"It is not worth telling." The queen persisted and the minister said, "The king had an encounter with a lionandthelionkilled......."Andshecollapsed andgaveupherlifethemomentsheheardthe word'killed'.Thekingcamerunning.The doctors were called but it was too late.Theking wassadthat.Hethoughtthathe wouldnotgetsogoodawifeintheworldnow. Therelativessaidthattheywantedaheirtothe throne who could run the government. The king married again. He respected the second queen as muchasthefirstone.OnedayaSaintgavethe kingan"amarfal"andsaid,"Youwillalways remainyoung,O'king,ifyoueatthisfruit."The kingthoughtthathewasalreadypasttheprime ofhislifeanditwouldbeofnousetobecome youngnow.He,therefore,gavethisfruittohis wife and said, "Eat this fruit and you will always remainyoung."Thequeensaid,"Ishalleatitin themorning."Thequeenwasinlovewiththe mahout.Shetookthefruittohimandsaid,"By eating this amar fruit I will remain youthful while youwillgrowoldandIwon'tlikethis.Sotake thisfruitandeatit."Themahoutsaid,"Iwas Anurag Sagar part - I Baba Kehar Singh Ji16attendingtoelephantsthewholedayandlotof dirtisstickingtome.Ishalltakeabath&then eatit."Thismahoutinturnwasinlovewitha prostitute.Hewenttoherinthenightandsaid, "Thisisamarfruit.Eatit.Itwillkeepyou youthful&beautiful."Theprostitutealsosaid thatshewouldtakeitafterthebath.Thenthis prostitutestartedthinkingthatifsheatethis fruit,shewouldremainentangledinthislustful lifethroughoutherlife.Shethoughtofthe religious nature of the king and decided that she wouldofferthisfruittohimsothathecould practice religion and devotion to God for a long time.Thuswithin24hourstheamarfruitwas backtotheking.Thekingaskedtheprostitute, "Whogavethisfruit?"Shesaidthatthemahout had given it to her. On enquiry, the mahout said thatthequeenhadgivenittohim.Thequeen said that she ate the fruit as soon as the king gave ittoher.Whenthekingthreatened,thequeen saidthatshelovedthemahoutandtherefore gavethefruittohim.Andthemahoutadmitted ofhislovefortheprostituteandhencehegave thefruittoher.Thenthekingstartedaccusing himself, "I may be cursed a lakh (100,000) times for I did not eat this fruit myself. And the queen becursedcrore(10,000,000)timesforshegave Anurag Sagar part - I Baba Kehar Singh Ji 17up the love of a king for a mahout. The mahout inturnbecursedarab(1,000,000,000)timesfor he preferred a prostitute to the queen. Out of all, the prostitute fared well. The king thought about thisepisodeandbecamesad.Hegaveupthe kingdom and became an ascetic. In this way, the kingBhartarihariandhisformerwifesetan example to follow.iiiiiil,i:l-i-l-iiiil,ilii-iKabirsays,"Thelady,whosehusbandhad died,climbedthepyre,placedtheheadofher husbandinherlapandburntherselfalongwith her husband while chanting Ram Ram." -i:liiii,---iliiiilli,liliKabirsays,"DharamDass,Anuragisan oceanoflove.Theknowledgeableandthe awakenedarenotafraidofthevastdepthofits water. A son was born to his wife in the dream.
