Internship in the Lisbon Zoo, on "Pest Control and parasitic diseases caused by rodent pests" (Duration: November 2010 / June 2012; Parasitic necropsies were performed on 100 rodents: 50 Rattus norvegicus and 50 Mus musculus, smears by liver apposition (Giemsa staining), faecal smear (Ziehl-Neelsen staining), coprology by flotation and spontaneous sedimentation techniques were also performed. Identification was based on light microscopy. Ectoparasites were collected by brushing fur and scraping skin and mites were preserved in alcohol 70º. Morphological studies were performed on specimens mounted on permanent slides.).
