    Summer has flown by

    much to my delight. The

    heat was oppressive

    though. I hope everyone

    took steps to keep cool,

    Here are a couple of

things that will keep us in

    the summer spirit. On

    August 10th, September

    6th, and October 6th we

    will be having crab feeds.

    Tickets for these events

will be at the bar or from

Joni. There will also be a

    Labor Day picnic. Details

    for each were not

    established by the time

    the Antlers went to the

    printer

It has been a sad year

    for many of our members

    and families. We have

    lost as many members as

    we have brought in.

    Which leads to the

    commitment that I

    previously asked of each

    and every member to

bring in at least one new

    member this Elk year.

We still have 8 months to

    accomplish this. Please

do your best to help keep

    this lodge afloat.

    I just returned from

    the national convention in

    St. Louis. It was hot

there as it was here. The

    item that was passed

    which stood out for me,

    was Grand Lodge taking

over the audit for all of

    the lodges. We will put

    everything on line, so that

    they can review the data.

This will mean that we will

no longer have to hire an

    auditor to review our

    books. Hopefully this will

    save us considerably in

    the audit process.

    We are going to try

    having the bar bingo on

    the second Friday of the

month, so as not to have

    the meat raffle on the

    very next night.

    Keep in mind that we

    need new members to

    keep our Lodge viable.

    Have a good rest

    of the summer.
