Most importantly, Kaiderma™ Facial Serum will continue to work throughout the day and night limiting further cellular damage by continually neutralizing free radicals, and reducing inflammation.

Over 85% of skin aging is due to the damaging effects of free radicals and associated inflammation. Free radicals are a group of highly reactive molecules that can damage or destroy lipids, proteins, DNA and other critical cellular components through a chemical process called oxidation. Free radicals are primarily formed from sun exposure, but also result from other environmental stresses, as well as from cellular metabolism. To combat free radicals and inflammation Kaiderma™ Anti-Aging Facial Serum contains a combination of unique marine extracts, powerful antioxidants and vitamins working together. Key to the effectiveness of Kaiderma™ Anti- Aging Facial Serum are three marine functional ingredients, colorless carotenoids from the marine algae Dunaliella Salina, Pseudopterosins from marine Gorgonians and Astaxanthin from the marine algae Haematococcus Pluvialis. Together they neutralize free radicals and fight inflammation.

Both Dunaliella Salina and Haematococcus Pluvialis thrive in extreme marine environments able to withstand intense UV exposure as well as temperature and salinity extremes. Considerable research has gone into what protects both algae species from these extreme exposures. The research has revealed that D. Salina produces two carotenoids, Phytoene and Phytofluene while H. Pluvialis produces the carotenoid Astaxanthin which are responsible for the protection. These three unique carotenoids have been clinically shown to provide the same protective functions in human skin. Multiple studies have shown they repair and protect skin at the cellular level via multiple mechanisms. First, is their ability to absorb UV radiation in both UVA and UVB ranges. Second, they have been clinically shown to neutralize multiple forms of destructive free radicals. In fact, Astaxanthin is considered the most powerful natural antioxidant known to science, over 550 times stronger than Vitamin E. Third, they offer potent ant-inflammatory activity by

blocking inflammation through inhibition of IL-2, IL-6, IL-12 and PGE-2. Lastly, they promote even skin coloration by inhibiting melanogenisis and reduction of melanocyte proliferation.

Inflammation is further suppressed by another proven marine compound extracted from Sea Whips (Gorgonians). The extract is comprised of natural anti-inflammatory compounds called Pseudopterosins. These compounds have been the subject of considerable scientific and clinical interest for a number of years. They are clinically proven to block two critical enzyme/receptor pathways that lead to inflammation. Clinical studies have shown Sea Whip extract suppresses epidermal skin inflammation significantly outperforming Indomethacin and Bisabolol two established ant-inflammatory agents.

The marine functional ingredients are supported by lipid soluble ester forms of Vitamins A, C and E along with CoQ10 and Alpha Lipoic Acid which together provide additional protection against a wide range of damaging free radicals.

The functional ingredients are formulated in an oil base that assists their penetration. The oil base includes emollient rich oils of Argan, Camelina, Coconut, Grape Seed and Almond along with soothing Lavender Essential Oil. These natural oils provide essential lipids to replenish and support the critical skin barrier function while promoting skin hydration by reduction of Trans Epidermal Water Loss (TEWL).
