To accept into our care children who have been

abandoned or orphaned, especially those infected or

affected by HIV /AIDS.

To provide these children with a caring Christian

environment whereby they will be nurtured and

cared for:

Physically

Emotionally

Spiritually

with unconditional love.

We recognise the exceptional vulnerability of these

children and proclaim that they are entitled to special

care and assistance by their caregivers.

March 2005 – February 2006 1

Lambano Sanctuary is celebrating their fifth year of commitment by providing a loving home

environment for orphaned and abandoned HIV+ children. We are currently operating from four

homes; 34 Senator Rd, 36 Senator Rd, 82 McAlpine Rd and 78 Senator Rd, Wychwood.

Our supporter sold our Kensington home in February 2006 and we moved into number

36 Senator Rd which had been purchased in June 2005, (this property had then been leased to

our new Volunteer Counsellor until it was required at the beginning of this year when the

Kensington home was sold). Our supporter who sold the Kensington home has purchased us

another home in Wychwood, no. 78 Senator Rd.

A word from the Chairman:

On behalf of the board of directors here at Lambano, we are truly grateful for another

blessed year. This year has brought its own set of challenges, but we are thankful for all

that the Lord is teaching us. Over all, it has been a joy to serve Christ by looking after the

Lambano children. Some of the challenges we have faced, however, include building

projects, property moves, and bank balances.

This year, our main office has moved from 34 Senator Road, Malvern East to a new

building behind the house next door (36 Senator). We are grateful for the generous

donations which have enabled us to move out of the small entry way of 34 Senator to our

new facility. Not only are we now enjoying more space, but Lynn is now able to be close to

the ICU unit and be at our main office at the same time.

As our “Forever Lambano Babies” grow into “Forever Lambano Children,” our housing need

have also grown. This has meant that our supporter who had previously leased us the

Kensington houses, has sold the property that those homes were on and purchased a

home for us to lease in Wychwood. This along with the new 36 Senator home has meant

more space, more play area, a closer proximity to our other homes, and two big moving

days. We would especially like to thank those who have helped us with these moves.

This year has been a challenge financially. In recent years, we have enjoyed a cushion that

enabled us to be assured of our monthly expenses. This past year, however, though we

have never been without finances, there have been some months in which we did not know

where the funds would come from. This has prompted us to be more prayerful about

support and has caused us to re-evaluate our budgeting needs. It has been a good

exercise for us and by God’s grace, through supporters like you, we have never had a

month that ended in a negative balance.

Thank you for your support of Lambano. We feel privileged to be a part of a work like this

and it is only because of your generosity, prayer, and concern that our staff, management,

and board are able to care for the Lambano children. In this next year, some areas of

improvement that we would like to focus on are staff training, looking for couples to serve

as house parents, and continued involvement with the building of an AIDS hospice for

babies. Please pray for our staff and leadership as we endeavor to maintain the highest

quality of care for the children we have been entrusted with.

With Gratitude,

Brian Biedebach

Chairman of the Board of Directors

Lambano Sanctuary

The words of the following song perfectly captures my experience at Lambano:

There is a lot of pain, but a lot more healingThere is a lot of trouble, but a lot more peace,There is a lot of hate, but a lot more loving,There is a lot of sin, but a lot more grace

Oh outrageous Grace,Love unfurled by Heaven’s HandOh outrageous Grace,Through my Jesus I can stand

FROM THE MANDATE

I want to praise the Lord for His Outrageous Grace in our lives in the past year. Yes the pain wasthere when 2 of our babies passed away, but the joy of the other 30 lives touched with healing andlove and peace was so much more.

These days, I am mostly involved with over 1000 Orphans and Vulnerable in a children rural programnorth of Pretoria. Lyn Croote who started Lambano with me in 2001 will be taking over asExecutive Director. I will remain on the Board of Lambano as a Director and want to thank all ourdonors and partners for their faithful support.

I pray that Lyn and staff of Lambano be greatly used by the Lord to help and guide the children to:

Be good soldiers of Jesus Christ and never turn back in the battleBe winners and helpers of soulsLive not to be ministered unto, but to ministerBe loyal and set loyalty above all thingsBe, doers, not mere talkersBe hard-working and to choose hard things rather than easy.Be trustworthyBe wise, for it is written, He has no pleasure in foolsPass from dependence on us to dependence on ChristNever come under the dominion of earthly things; but to be truly freeGrow up healthy, happy and friendly and be keen to make others happyGive them eyes to see the beauty of the world and hearts to worship its CreatorEncourage them to be gentle to beast and bird, that cruelty will be hateful to them

“MAY THEY WALK O LORD IN THE LIGHT OF THY COUNTENANCE” Amy Carmichael

It is a privilege for me to be part of the Lambano team and I thank each one of them from the bottomof my heart for their sacrificial service and unconditional love for the children.

Thank you Lord for the tremendous joy the children bring to me, a barren woman's, heart and life.

We would like to take this opportunity and thank all our sponsors for your continued support ,

encouragement and faithfulness in the past year. We are continually astounded by the Lord’s

provision and goodness. The children are a constant source of joy and blessing to all who

work at Lambano Sanctuary and many visitors have come with mixed feelings about what to

expect, but left having experienced in part what we have the privilege of every day.

As requested by the Department of Social Development’s Non-

profit organisation’s Directorate, an annual narrative is included

in this Appendix.
