JBCCCC Activities of 2012
Workshop on Entrepreneurship Development
JBCCCC in collaboration with Fevicryl Hobby Ideas conducted six days
Entrepreneurship Development Workshop on Creative Craft Work On 25th May
2012 to 2 June 2012. Mr Abhijit Gogoi Super Teacher Fevicryl Hobby Ideas imparted
training to the students. In the workshop the training was given on Acrylic painting ,
Glass painting , Fabric Glue Technique , Ceramic painting , Moulding craft and paper
craft. Altogether 35 students were trained in the programme.
Two days Training Programme
The JBCCCC organized two days training programme on 22nd and 23rd July 2012 for
Degree (Core) students, where Dr. Jiban Saikia, Coordinator, IGNOU Center, JB
College, Dr. Bishnu Prasad Sarmah, Coordinator, Distance Education Centre and Ms.
Beauty Kalita , Career Counselor, JB College delivered talk on different aspects related
to skill based courses that the students can pursue along with their degree courses.
Motivational Camp
JBCCCC on 3rd August 2012, a Motivational Camp entitled Your Career in Armed
Forces was organized for students. Col. R K Gill of 9th Assam n NCCC delivered a
lecture on various career opportunities in Armed Forces and motivated the students
for joining in Indian Army. Altogether 50 students participated in the programme.
Two days Industrial Motivation Campaign
On 16th and 17th November 2012 a two days Industrial Motivation Campaign was
organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell, JBCCCC. On day one the
programme was on Natural Dyes Mrs Minti Gogoi , Research Associate , Assam
Agricultural University and Mr Kamal Bhuyan , Assistant Director, MSME-DI, Diphu
graced the occasion as resource person .
On second day the programme on Manufacturing of Detergent, Phenyle and Liquid
Detergent was organized. Mr Siddhartha Barua, Assistant Director MSME-
DI, Guwahati and Mr Arup Barua a successful entrepreneur was the resource person.
Altogether 20 students participated in the programme.
JBCCCC Activities of 2013
Workshop on Career Counselling
On 11th and 12th March 2013 a two days workshop on “Your Career in Life Insurance
Sector” was organized by JBCCCC. The workshop was attended by 60 students. The
resource persons were, the Chief Adviser of life insurance Corporation of India and
Dibakar Sharma Tamuly, Principal Trainer of Life Insurance Corporation of India. The
provided valuable tips and training to participants for preparing themselves to adopt
a career in Life Insurance Sector Mr Borthakur also spoke about different aspects of
specific skills of facing personal interview required by the interested students seeking
career in life insurance.
Motivational Lecture on Career
JBCCCC organized a lecture to motivate students for glorified Armed Forces on 30th
April 2013. The motivational Lecture entitled Be an Army Officer and a Winner for
Life was delivered by Major Dr Arun Kumar Dwivedi of resident Psychiatry Command
Hospital Kolkata. Altogether 30 students participated in that programme. Altogether

Talk Programme on Career in Shipping Industry
On 8th August 2013, J B College Career Counselling Cell organized a talk to introduce
to the students the career in shipping industry The talk entitled Career in Shipping
Industry was delivered by Hemanga Baishya, Navigation officer of World Trade
and 125 students participated in the programme.
Entrepreneurship Development Programme cum Awareness Programme on Bee
Keeping
On 21st August 2013, J B College Career Counselling Cell organized a programme in
Career in Bee Keeping in three phases. In the first phase Mr Leela Charan Dutta , an
established entrepreneur and bee keeping expert delivered the a lecture on Bee
Keeping Career.The programme was attended by 25 students.
In the second phase an awareness programme on bee keeping was organized on 20th
September 2013. Dr Ataur Rahman Principal Scientist Assam agricultural University
delivered a talk on different aspects of Bee keeping. Mr Leela Charan Dutta also spoke
about his experiences as a bee entrepreneur. Altogether 60 students participated in
the programme.
In the third phase, practical training and field visit was conducted under the guidance
of Dr Ashrafuzzaman Chowdhury, Coordinator Entrepreneurship Development Cell
and Pranamika Mahanta , Career Counsellor.
Motivational Talk on Career in Banking Sector
On 18th September 2013 a motivational talk was organized on Career in Banking
Sector. Mr Kumar Koushik Assistant Manager) and Mr Pinak Majumdar, Branch
Manager Industrial Development bank of India (IDBI) Altogether 50 students
participated in the programme. Altogether 50 students participated in the programme.
JBCCCC Activities of 2014
Programme on Career Counselling
On 15th February 2014 JBCCC organized a Counselling Programme on Career
Dialogue in collaboration with Social Media Club, Guwahati. The resource person of
the programme were Dr Prasanta Kumar Bordoloi , Dr Buljit Buragohain , Dr Gouri
Goutam Borthakur , Mr Kamal Kakoti and Md syed Mohsin Raza . Altogether 122
students participated in this programme.
International Social Work Day Celebration
On 18th March 2014 JBCCC celebrated International Social Work Day in
collaboration with Don Bosco Institute where the scope of Social work was widely
discussed. Students from both institutions participated in the programme.
Entrepreneurship Development Workshop on Dress Designing
A four days Entrepreneurship Development workshop on Dress Designing was
organized on 27th March to 29th March and 1st April 2014. The super teacher of Pidilite
Mr Abhijit Gogoi was the key trainer in this workshop, Altogether 36 students were
tyrained in thisprogramme.
Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) with North eastern Small Scale
Industries Association ( NESSIA)
J B College signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) with North eastern Small
Scale Industries Association ( NESSIA) on 16th May 2014. The memorandum was
signed by Dr. Bimal Barah , Priccipal J B College and Mr Niren Sarma , Secretary,
NESSIA in the presence of faculty members and office bearers of NESSIA. The main
aim is to train the youth on entrepreneurship and skill development of the youth and
students of the college.
Personality Development Programme
On 26th August 2014 JBCCCC organized a programme on Personality Development
in collaboration with Infrastructure Leasing Financial Services( ILFS), Guwahati Mrs
Nivedita Borthakur was the resource person of this programme.
Entrepreneurship Development Programme Workshop on Career as a Makeup
Artist
A three days’ Workshop on Career as a Makeup Artist was organized by JBCCCC and
extension services of J B College Students Union on 3rd , 4th and 6th
September 2014.
Mrs Dipti Das Instructor of ITI Jorhat was the trainer. Altogether 30 students
participated in theprogramme.
Workshop on Entrepreneurship Development
JB College Career Counselling Centre organized a Workshop on Entrepreneurship
Development from 15th to 28th September 2014 in collaboration with north Eastern
Small Scale Industries Association (NESSIA). The programme was sponsored by
Ministry of Micro Small Scale and Medium Enterprises, Government of India
.Altogether 33 students were trained in the programme.
JBCCCC Activities of 2015
Workshop cum Awareness Programme
JBCCCC organized a National Workshop cum Awareness programme on Health and
Healthy Lifestyle in collaboration with Rajib Gandhi National Institute of Youth
Development on 27th and 28th February 2015. The resource persons were Dr saurabh
Borkataky , Dr Rajib Barkataky , Dr sankar Jyoti Parasar , Dr amio sarma , Dr Bhaktimoy
Bhattacharya , Dr Ruma Bhattacharya , Dr jayanta Das, Smt Anjana Borthakur and Suren
Handique. They provided valuable lectures and training for Health and Healthy
lifestyle.
Entrepreneurship Development Programme
Entrepreneurship Development Cell , JBCCCC organized a 15 days training programme
on Designer Candle Making from 12th March to 27th March 2015. The trainer was Mrs
Sipra Sinha Das. The participants also conducted an exhibition of the products they
had had prepared they had prepared in the workshop under the guidance of the
resource person.
Mock Test (Career Counselling)
JBCCCC organized a Mock Test on Bank / SSC/ MAT in collaboration Career Choice
on 22nd April. 2015. Altogether 35 students participated in the mock test.
Civil Defence Training Programme cum Workshop on Disaster Management
JBCCCC organized a Civil Defence Training Civil Defence Training Programme cum
Workshop on Disaster Management in collaboattion with the office of the
Controller of Civil Defence of Government of Assam from 26th June to 29th June 2015,
Altogether 65 students participated in this camp.
Workshop on Entrepreneurship Development
J. B College Career counseling Cell organized a five days Entrepreneurship
Development Workshop on Dress Designing and Liquid Embroidery in
collaboration with Pidilite from 24th August to 28th August2015. Altogether 51
(fifty one) students participated in that workshop where Ms. Dulary Kotoky extended
her service as the chief resource person.
Talk Programme on Law and Environment ( Environment)
J. B College Career Counseling Cell organized a talk programme on ‘Climate Change
and International Humanitarian Law’ in collaboration with North – East Affected Area
Development society on 16th September 2015 from 2 pm in Conference Hall I where
25 students participated. Mr. Tirtha Prasad Saikia, Joint Director, NEAADS and
Advocate (Mrs.) Rituparna Boruah were the resource persons of the programme.
Career Counseling Programme:
J. B College Career Counseling Cell with JBCSU organized a Career Counselling Talk
programme on 17th September 2015 Altogether 75 students participated. The
resource person was Mr. Manjit Nath.
JBCCCC Activities of 2016
Workshop on Career Counselling
JBCCC organized a workshop on Resume preparation and Facing Interview
on 1st February 2016. The resource person was Pranjal Borbora , General Manager
Relation , Kaziranga University, Jorhat, Assam . Altogether 68 students participated
in the programme.
Workshop on Career Counselling
A workshop on Career after Graduation was organized by JBCCCC in collaboration
with Times Pro of Times of India on 5th February 2016. Mr A Biswas Senior Executive
of Times Pro was the resource person of the programme where 62 students
participated.
Entrepreneurship Development Programme
JBCCC as per Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU) with North Eastern Small
Scale Industries Association ( NESSIA) organized a collaborative programme of
10 days Workshop on Entrepreneurship Development from 24th February 2016
to 5th March 2016. Ten resource persons delivered their valuable lectures on various
aspects of entrepreneurship development. A field visit to NERIST was also organized
for the 25 participants.
Tata Consultancy Services Placement (TCS)
With the initiative of JBCCCC 19 students of 6th semester of different departments of
Arts and Commerce have been selected in a campus interview for placement in Tata
Consultancy Service. They have already received the offer letters issued to them by the
Kolkota Office of Tata ConsultancyService
Interactive Session on Civil Services(Competitive Examinations)
An Interactive session with Dr. A R Khan, Director of Khan Study Group, New Delhi
was organized by JBCCCC on 8th of March 2016 . The active participation of 200
students of J.B. College and neighboring colleges made the programme very lively
and successful.
Workshop on Entrepreneurship Development
J B College Career counseling cell organized a Entrepreneurship Development
Workshop on Dress Painting and Ornaments Designing from 28th March to 2nd April
2016 in collaboration with Pidilite. The resource persons of the workshop were Ms.
Dulari Kotoky and Mr. Amit Karmakar where 40 students and 7 teachers participated.
Motivational Seminar
J.B College Career Counseling Cell organized a motivational Seminar on 27th
September 2016 in collaboration with Institution of Computer Accounts. The resource
person was Mr. Arup Bhattacharyya, Director of the Institute of Computer Accounts.55
students participated in this programme.
Cartoon Competition
J.B College Career Counseling Cell organized a cartoon competition among the
students of J.B College in collaboration with ONGC on the occasion of Vigilance
Awareness Week, 2016 on 4th November 2016. The selected students from the
competition took part in district level. Subrat Baruah, Kalyan Jyoti Saikia and Manash
Chaliha of J.B College awarded first, second and third prize at district level.
Orientation Programme (Counselling)
J.B College Career Counseling Cell organized a Parent Orientation Programme on
18th December 2016 with Shemford Futuristic School, Jorhat Dr. Jayanta Das, Dr.
Jayashree Das and Dr. Anweshak Das were the key note speakers of the programme.
Almost 150 parents participated in the program.
Screening Test ( Competitive Examinations)
On 23rd December of 2016 JBCCCC in collaboration with CSRL (Centre for Social
Responsibility and Leadership) organized a Screening Test for the students of HS
Second year living in below poverty line for the admission of ONGC super 30 under
the scheme of Social Responsibility of ONGC.
2017
Eloquence Competition
J.B College Career Counselling Cell and J.B College NCC Unit jointly organized an
eloquence competition on 9th January 2017 in collaboration with district authority of
Jorhat on occasion of Road Safety Week. The winners of this competition were
awarded with an amount of money, books and certificate.
Lecture on Soft Skill Development:
On 23rd February 2017 J. B College Career Counselling Cell organized a lecture on soft
skill development in collaboration with NECA (North East Consultant Association)
where 46 students participated. Mr. Pranjal Borbora was the resource person who
delivered the lecture as well as responded to the student query.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (EDP)
A six week Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) on Natural Fibre
Diversified Products was organized by J B College Career Counselling Centre (JBCCCC)
in collaboration with Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati from 31st
march 2017 to 12th May 2017. The programme was sponsored by National Science&
Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB). Altogether 29 persons
were trained in the programme. As part of the programme an exhibition cum sale of
Training products was alsoorganized.
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU)
A Memorandumof Understanding(MoU) was signed on 13th May 2017
between J B College (Autonomous), Jorhat and Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship(
IIE) at the college campus. The MoU is signed by Dr. Bimal Barah, Principal, J. B College
(Autonomous), Jorhat and Mr Manoj Kumar Das, Director of Indian Institute of
Entrepreneurship. The MoU will boost the entrepreneurship and skill development
among the students. Moreover, it will create entrepreneurial aspirants and awareness
among the youths
TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES RECRUITMENT DRIVE
J B College Career Counselling Centre( JBCCCC) in collaboration with Tata
Consultancy Services ( TCS) Recruitment Drive conducted a campus Drive at J B College (
Autonomous), Jorhat on 24th October 2017. 41 candidates are selected for final placement
in TCS.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (EDP)
J B College Career Counselling Centre( JBCCCC) in collaboration with Pidilite Industries
Limited Organized a three day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) on Dress
Designing and Jewellery Making on 18th , 19th and 20th September 2017 at our college
campus.20 students were trained in the programme.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (EDP)
J B College Career Counselling Centre( JBCCCC) in collaboration with Department of
Fashion Design and Technology, Assam Women University organized a 3 days
Entrepreneurship Development Programme ( EDP) on Textile and Apparel Designing on 11th
, 12th and 14th September 2017 in the college campus. Altogether 15 students were trained
in the Programme.
One Day Seminar On Sports Journalism
JBCCCC organized a one day seminar on sports journalism as a medium for skill
development for the Human Resources of Assam was organized by Assam sports journalist
association in association with State Level Advisory Committee(Student and Youth Welfare)
Government of Assam on 31st
October 2017. About 200 students participated in the
programme.
