If you are a newcomer to St. Margaret’s, please ask an usher or greeter for a Newcomers bag to take home with more information on St. Margaret’s programs and events. And please fill out a Newcomers card located in the pews. You can put it in the collection plate or give to clergy.
Prayer Requests — Please note:
To add a name to the prayer list, please use our new prayer re-
quest forms (purple) in the pews (to put in the collection plate or
give to clergy) or make a request on our website using the
“Prayer Request” button on the bottom of the homepage. From
time to time, we will be checking to see if names still belong.
TODAY AT ST. MARGARET’S
BIBLE WOMEN STUDY AT 10:20 A.M.
Our Bible Women book study continues this morn-
ing during the formation hour in the new Fellowship
Hall. Everyone is welcome to come hear the dis-
cussion of the various characters that have been
studied over the past few weeks, even if you have
not participated previously. The study has brought
up the stories of many women in the bible of whom
many of our members were unfamiliar.
CHILDREN’S CHAPEL AT THE 9 A.M. SERVICE
Our Children’s Chapel program for ages three to
six years takes place during the 9 a.m. service. The
children leave the nave during the sequence
hymn following behind the cross which will come
down the aisle and then go into the downstairs an-
nex classroom where they will hear a bible story
and enjoy music together before rejoining their
parents at the Peace.
NURSERY AVAILABLE
Children are very special to us here at St.
Margaret’s, and we have a lovely, newly refur-
bished nursery in our annex building that adjoins
our sanctuary (down a short flight of stairs). We
have experienced, loving professionals ready to
welcome our little guests from infants to age 3 from
8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
STEWARDSHIP
We are STILL collecting Stewardship pledge cards
in today’s offering plate. Cards are available in the
church pews and in the sanctuary narthex. You
can also pledge online on our website under the
“Giving” tab at the top. Thank you for your gener-
osity.
TO DATE WE HAVE:
203 PLEDGES FOR
$782,722.
NOTE: IF YOU USE ONLINE BANKING AND AUTOMATIC DEDUC-
TIONS ON A REGULAR BASIS, WE STILL NEED TO KNOW THAT THIS
AMOUNT WILL CONTINUE IN 2017.
Sunday, Dec. 4 — 5 p.m. with the St. Margaret’s choirs
An antidote to commercial Christmas practices, this
annual service consists of scripture readings and
choral offerings by our choirs. The music this year will
reflect the progression of our faith towards the light
of Christ and ends with the other worldly “Seek Him
that Maketh the Seven Stars” by composer Jona-
than Dove. Please join us!
Sessions:
*Monday mornings at 10 a.m. in the formation
building with the Rev. Jane Hague (Nov. 28, Dec.
5, 12, 19);
*Monday evenings at 6:45 p.m. in the formation
building with Valery Weekly (same dates as
above);
*Sunday mornings at 10:20 a.m. in the fellowship
hall with the Rev. Peter Mayer (Dec. 4, 11, 18).
Books are on sale for $10 in the Parish Hall on
Sundays or you can order at Amazon.com.
We’re using “Awaiting the Al-
ready” for our Advent study this
year. This book takes a tour
through the four Gospel narratives
that announce Christ's birth or
make way for his ministry. Readers
will discover what parts of the
Christmas story come from which
Gospel to prepare for a fresh expe-
rience of Christ in the past and the
future.

Announcements Advent Wreathmaking NEXT SUNDAY
Bring your entire family to the Parish Hall between the services on Sunday, November 27th. Come kick off
Advent by making a wreath to help celebrate the season. Cost is $15 and includes all supplies to create a
live Advent wreath as well as a family Advent study booklet that invites families to explore a Biblical story
each of the four weeks of Advent and consider what these stories mean to their lives. There is a limit of 40
total wreath kits, so secures yours now! You can prepay on our website by Monday November 21 or pur-
chase at the door. Help is still needed for set up and clean up the morning of November 27th. If you are
available to help or would like more detailed info, email [email protected]. This is a quick and
short-term volunteer project. Please make plans to donate greens for the wreath-making as well. Greens
of all types—evergreen, boxwood, holly, fir as well as pinecones —can be left in front of the Parish Hall
doors on Saturday, November 26th or Sunday, November the 27th before 8:30 a.m.
Holy Folders Needed on Tuesday, Nov. 29
We are once again inviting parishioners to serve as our “holy folders” for the upcoming Christmas mailing.
Please join us on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 10 a.m., in the administrative conference room. All are welcome to join
us with refreshments and wonderful fellowship.
Immediate Needs in Family Ministries
We’ve had a boom in young children coming to church on Sundays, and we can’t be more excited!
Please consider being part of our team! We need extra adult volunteers Sunday mornings in our nursery
during the 9:00 service. If you can volunteer one Sunday a month it would be a huge help! Also, we are in
need of some substitute Children’s Chapel leaders. These leaders will be called on when we are short
help during Children’s Chapel. We are also in need of infant toys (hard plastic or toys that can be sani-
tized), pack and plays, and “exersaucers.” If you have any donations of this sort, please contact
Foyers Christmas Gathering on Sunday, Dec. 4
For all of those participating in the foyers program, you are invited to the groups’ annual Christmas gather-
ing on Sunday, Dec. 4, in the parish hall starting at 3 p.m. It is always a fun event, and allows participants in
all foyers groups to meet and/or catch up.
Vestry Candidates Wanted for 2017
As three of our members rotate off in January, we are welcoming potential candidates who wish to be
considered for the vestry starting in 2017. The Vestry is the governing body of St. Margaret’s Church, with
each member elected at the January annual meeting to serve a three-year term. Interested parishioners
should contact our candidate liaison Ernie Tucker at [email protected].
Truth and Reconciliation — Diocesan News
You are invited into a conversation on reparations for the enslavement of human beings in the history of
the Diocese of Maryland and the United States. A Diocesan Council was tasked by Diocesan Convention
to begin this conversation when a resolution was referred last May to Council. To that end there are five
such opportunities to listen, learn and share being offered across the diocese. The dates are:
November 29, 7 p.m., Claggett Center
December 3, 10 a.m., Emmanuel, Cumberland
December 13, 7:30 p.m., Holy Comforter, Lutherville
January 11, 7p.m., All Saints Sunderland

Words & Why They Matter” by Episcopal priest Lindsey Hardin Freeman. We will study every
woman who ever spoke a word in the bible and relate their circumstances and challenges
with our own experiences and beliefs. Join our Thursday morning class (9:15 a.m. or our Bible
Women Facebook group (link on our website).
