Inspired by the Stephen King novel “Misery”
Synopsis
Annie is the gripping tale of a psychopathic
woman and her devious ways of controlling
people. Inspired by Stephen King’s classic novel,
Misery, this thrilling drama takes us into the
complex mazes of Annie’s mercurial mind, her
fantasies and deceptions. She is blatantly
infatuated with the writer Sabyasachi Ray. Like
one of those strange ironies of life, Sabyasachi
gets caught in a blizzard and who do we suppose
is the person he coincidentally comes across?
Annie happens to live in the blizzard-stricken area
and she can hardly believe that it is her favorite
writer who she sees almost half dead in that
catastrophic wintry night! As a “trained nurse,”
she takes care of Sabyasachi. The writer is very
thankful to her for having saved his life. However,
he realizes that there is something beyond
Annie’s nurturing instincts—something sinister
and unexplainable. He discovers that she is a
maniac who insists on steering his novels to her
imagination and wish fulfillments. The realization
soon dawns upon Sabyasachi that Annie has
weakened him with drugs and wants to make him
a permanent prisoner. But he is not the kind to
surrender to her diabolical traps without a fight.
Sabyasachi silently plans to free himself from the
trapped situation. All he has left are his drugged
body, weak legs and a whole lot of desperate
determination coupled with calm resilience. Will
he ever be able to escape…?

distinction. He will be playing the role of the home Minister.
Mohammed Abdullah (Milu)
Milu has been culturally active for a long time. A former member of
Notre Dame ‘Natya Dal’ and ‘Abritti Dal,’ he continued working with
‘Kanthasheelan’ till he moved to the USA. In Columbus, he always has

the traditions of Bengali drama alive. Rehman has directed several of
the Onnyo Theater plays notably, Kinu Kaharer Theater, Dushomoy,

building sets and in directing music. Rehman performs the role of
Sabyasachi Ray in this play.
Srirupa Dhar Mazumder

during his freshman year in college. Since then, he has acted in and
directed numerous plays, including several in Columbus under the
Onnyo Theater banner. In addition to drama, Sandip is a talented
musician, whose dramatic ideas are often prompted by musical ideas.
