When I was first approached to produce a VDay event, I was skeptical. After all, I had never seen, or heard of "The Vagina Monologues". Nor the movement that it gave rise to known as "VDay". The more I “looked into it” (Vpun intended), the clearer it became that VDay fits perfectly with what In Motion Theatre is all about. Changing hearts and minds through live theatre, bringing about awareness of worthy causes, and raising funds to help local cause based organizations. What better cause than to stop violence against women?!

Firstly, the revolution had to begin in me. It wasn’t that I’m not aware of violence against women. But my awareness was not as acute as it could be. Violence against women is an ugly subject. Sometimes such that it’s too ugly to look at or think about, and isn’t that the very problem? If we don’t look at the problem, it doesn’t go away. It just gets bigger. So, going through the process with this incredibly talented, amazingly strong, wonderfully vibrant cast of women has brought about the “revolution” in me and I thank each of them for taking part in this production.

Now, I proudly step up alongside these marvelous women to move you to

laugher, tears, greater awareness, and hopefully to change your heart to be-

come a part of the solution. If each one of us does our small part, eventually

the solution will be bigger than the problem!!
