Job Overview

• Give anesthesia during surgery• Monitor patients’ vital functions

and continue administering the anesthetic throughout the surgery• Help alleviate chronic or acute pain felt

by patients• Help the surgeon and work with other

hospital staff• Monitor patients after surgery• Use complex equipment, monitors, and

drugs to limit pain

• Study many undergraduate subjects before medical school
