Profile

Since moving to New Zealand from Sydney in 2007 I have completed my secondary and tertiary education and have been fortunate enough to work in multiple industries that are of interest to me. Having recently completed my studies at Auckland University of Technology in Industrial Design, I’m now seeking employment opportunities that will build upon my existing experience in the fields of data management, process improvement and insight generation. Outside of work, some of my interests include securities and foreign exchange trading, sailing, sustainable energy and industrial technology.

Experience

Group Data Specialist, Armstrong Motor Group, Oct ’15-Aug ’16

When I started working for AMG, I was based at a Peugeot and Citröen dealership, migrating handwritten records into existing customer and vehicle databases, as well as data cleaning and ensuring data integrity.

From here, my skills and talents were recognised by my manager, who moved me to the head office of Armstrong Motor Group, where my role extended into providing support to the whole group, primarily to the Customer Relationship Management team, as well as the Peugeot, Citröen, DS Automobiles, Mercedes-Benz and Toyota brands.

Using my design experience and HTML knowledge, I was able to transform the written communication from the company to the customer to enhance the image of the brands and better communicate with the customers. I provided customised data identification, mining and processing solutions to high level decision makers in the group, as well as data analysis and insight generation.

Kitchen-hand/Cleaner, Caluzzi Bar and Cabaret, Auckland Nov ’13-Feb ’15

In this role, I was responsible for opening the restaurant, cleaning the toilets, vacuuming and mopping the floors, setting up the tables and

chairs then into the kitchen where I performed food preparation duties, washed dishes/cookware, plated food for service and cleaned up the workspace at the end of the night.

Sales and Lending Consultant, Westpac, Auckland Oct ’11-Jul ’12

Upon commencement at Westpac, I, along with the other successful applicants were trained in phone assist prior to receiving our sales and lending training. This enabled us to handle all of the customers’ account queries as well as applications for insurances (home + contents, vehicle, income protection, life), credit cards, overdrafts, personal loans and home loans.

Throughout my time with Westpac, I became the representative for Sales and Lending New Zealand on the Innovation Board, which involved me going through suggestions for policies, procedures, services and products from Sales and Lending agents, assessing their potential value, how they could be implemented and communicating the best ideas to the rest of the board. In addition to presenting these ideas, I was also responsible to voice the thoughts of sales and lending staff with regards to ideas from other departments.

Collections Officer, GE Money, Auckland, Feb ’10-Jul '11 Upon joining GE Money in an outbound collections role, I quickly excelled within the Collections department as a Front Line Associate, showing empathy, effectiveness and initiative when dealing with early delinquent customers with an unsecured revolving credit facility.

By going over and above the everyday requirements of my role, it was not long before my ongoing commitment to self and team improvement was recognised and I was identified as a preferred candidate for promotion within the department.

My first promotion was to a specially created position that required me to manually migrate thousands of accounts from an old unsupported debt management system to the new debt management software. This involved manually copying and pasting the fields that could be copied/pasted, and retyping the fields that couldn’t. As part of my process, I was given criteria and asked to determine if the client was eligible for a discounted settlement offer, then calculate the amount of the discount, and manually draft and send the letters to the clients. This campaign ran for two months.

Within six months from commencing employment, I had moved from dealing with early stage delinquent unsecured accounts to back- end collections activity in a Recoveries Issuance capacity. This involved solely managing all referrals for enforcement action across all loss recoveries portfolios.

More specifically, my role involved preparing pre-possession notices and repossession warrants in accordance with relevant legislation in New Zealand surrounding enforcement and recovery action. A very high attention to detail was required as any potential error could have lead to reputational damage, financial loss or legislative repercussions for the company.

I was charged with end-to-end issuance activity including but not limited to: obtaining estimates of value for the securities, liaising with various departments as and when necessary, organising release of security interests, instructing external repossession agents, obtaining agent updates on currently issued accounts as well as working with customers to achieve the best outcome for both them and the company.

Retail Assistant, Rodd & Gunn Queen St, Auckland, Oct ’09-Feb ‘10 As a Retail Sales Assistant, my role involved answering all inbound calls to the store, maintaining a high standard of visual merchandising, facilitating customer requests and processing sales, administrative tasks such as compiling reports for the store and regional managers, EFTPOS settlement, and banking. Another major part of my role was utilising my interpersonal communication skills to build rapport with the customer and ensure lasting brand loyalty.

Checkout Operator, Centre City New World, Dunedin, Apr-Oct ’09 As a checkout operator my position involved communicating with customers and superiors in an effective and clear manner, processing EFTPOS and cash sales, till operation and sales of alcohol and cigarettes. I was also trained in supervising the self- checkouts as well as extensive Lotto training.

Metalworker, Fisher & Paykel employed through Westaff, Dunedin, Dec ’08-Feb ’09 Employed as temporary staff through recruitment company Westaff, this position involved training in the safe and efficient operation of heavy

mechanical and hydraulic presses at the Fisher & Paykel kitchen appliance production facility in Dunedin.

Customer Service/Sales Assistant, Briscoes Homeware, Dunedin, Mar-Dec ’07 Whilst employed with Briscoes in a service to sales role, I was able to develop effective face-to- face communication skills when dealing with potential customers within the store. This role involved assisting customers to identify the products available that met their needs, organising stock transfers when the product was not available, answering inbound calls as well as processing sales and returns.
