Lodging

Ladies Auxiliary: We are pleased to offer 3 suites that were completely renovated in 2010. Suites have two single beds or a double bed. The suites all have a refrigerator and coffee maker. Toasters and a microwave are accessible in the Cafe. Each room has an eating area with seat-ing. The rooms are available for rent for $40/single or $50/double per night.

Private Lodging: Available from cottage owners. Please inquire for rates & details.

Local Hotels: Located within easy driving distance.

Camping: A limited number of campsites are available on the campground. For those interested in more information please call or email housing@campetna.com

DirectionsCamp Etna is located 20 miles south of Bangor, Maine on Rt. 2.

Driving: Take Rt. I-95 to exit 167. Turn right at the end of the exit ramp. Take Rt. 143 2.1 miles to the intersection with Rt. 2 (blinking red light). Turn right on Rt. 2 and go .5 miles. The camp is at the top of the hill on the left hand side of the road.

Bus Service: Bus service is available to Bangor, Maine. Pick-up in Bangor may be available through prior arrangement.

Camp Etna's Common Green

Camp EtnaCamp Etna was founded in 1876 as a Spiritualist Camp in Etna, Maine. Spiritualists came every summer to camp out in their tents and to hear the top mediums and inspirational speakers of the day. Eventually the campers built platforms for their tents, then, cottages were built on the platforms. At its peak in the early 1900’s there were 130 cottages that formed the vibrant summer community. People came from Boston, Hartford, Providence, and New York by train and got off at a stop at the camp next to Etna Pond. Mainers came far and wide by horse, carriage and on foot. Visitors numbered over 3000 for the camp meetings, an antiquated term used for religious gatherings. After a fire devastated the camp in the 1920's, new cottages were built, many of which are still used today.

Present DayThroughout the years, Camp Etna has been home to many talented mediums and healers who have shared their spiritual knowledge and insights to those visiting the campground.

The camp cottages center around a common green. The peaceful 27 wooded acres are an ideal setting for reflection. Visitors can stroll the grounds, visit the healing rock or walk down to Etna Pond. The natural beauty makes it a wonderful place for a personal retreat.

People from all spiritual disciplines are

invited to participate in the programs, classes and workshops.

Mediumship InformationWhat is a Medium? A medium is someone who has been trained to make contact with loved ones who are in spirit.

Mediumship is a form of Healing. It is through the messages of love coming from the Spirit World that we are healed of our fear of death and our loneliness and grief. It is through the evidence that we receive from the spirits who have transitioned and left the physical body behind that we can truly know that life does continue and that love lives on. We are spirit here, now and always! We have always been, are now, and will continue to be as we evolve on the spirit side of life.

Mediums train for many years as they travel through their individual process of unfolding their natural abilities and walk the path of spiritual development. Learning to love, opening their hearts and minds in compassion and understanding, prepares our mediums for the great work of service that is waiting.

What happens in a Mediumship Reading? The medium asks loved ones in spirit to provide evidence of who they are so the person getting the reading can identify them. The medium also provides a message from the loved one(s). Our mediums work on the vibration of love only and bring through messages that uplift and heal.

Tips for Getting A Great Reading1. If you are looking to hear from someone specific, be sure to let the medium know at the beginning of your reading. There are no guarantees that this person will come through, but it helps to know if there is someone specific you want to hear from.

2. Bring pen and paper. You can receive a lot of information in a reading including pieces of evidence and messages from your loved one(s). Taking notes will allow you to review them afterwards for things you might forget later. Some mediums are happy to have you record your session.

3. The loved ones in spirit who feel they can help you will often come through, but they may not be someone you recall right away. Sometimes you remember who they are later, know that they come in love for you.

About SpiritualismChurch ServicesOur services have three parts: Healing Service, a lecture on a spiritual topic, and Spirit Communication through Mediumship. In Spiritualism we have no dogma or creed, but we do have a set of 9 principles that we try to use in our daily lives. These are:

1. We believe in Infinite Spirit and that God is Infi-nite Spirit.

2. We believe that the phenomena of nature, both physical and spiritual, is the expression of Infinite Spirit.

3. We affirm that a correct understanding of such expression, and living in accordance therewith, constitutes true religion.

4. We affirm that the existence and personal identity of an individual continue after the change called death.

5. We affirm that communication with the so-called dead is a fact, scientifically proven by the phenomena of Spiritualism.

6. We believe that the highest morality is contained in the Golden Rule: “Whatsoever ye would that others should do unto you, do ye also unto them.”

7. We affirm the moral responsibility of the indi-vidual and that they make their own happiness or unhappiness as they obey or disobey Nature's physical and spiritual laws.

8. We affirm that the doorway to reformation is never closed to any human soul here or hereafter.

9. We affirm the precepts of prophecy and healing are divine attributes proven through Mediumship.
